There are a few other threads on here with travel advice - so I recommend searching or "flying" or something. I find that listening to relaxing music on my mp3 player helps a lot once the plane's up in the air. Take-off and landing are a lot more stressful for me. I try to focus on breathing and I try talking to the person sitting beside me - somehow forcing myself to pretend to be normal helps me not become completely overwhelmed. I told myself on my last flight, when I felt sure I was going to pass out, that it wouldn't be a big deal if I did. I would just look like I was sleeping, which is normal on a plane. Somehow that helped a lot and I - of course - did not actually pass out. Remember the tips on here for challenging anxious thoughts. Just keep focusing on how fun your trip is. When you start to feel nervous sensations, reinterpret them as being excited sensations. You're excited to be flying, and you're excited see your friend - giddy almost. Maybe that will help. Just remember: You won't pass out. You won't die. Period. You'll be fine. I hope you have a great trip! Let us know how it went.
