'silly' fears

18 years ago 0 77 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
i don't think this is a silly fear at all ! its real to you, so how can it be ? we all have inhibitions, i know i do, i couldn't 'role play' in a training course, my husband gets tongue tied on the phone, we all have little fears or anxieties about certain things, thats what makes us individuals. if you feel like you're missing out because of these things, then maybe with the programme you could work towards some small goal / achievement, but if its just not your 'thing' don't make yourself, or beat yourself up about it, i'm sure your friends love you for who you are, not what you can or can't do. good luck !!

Maddie, There is no such thing as "silly fears" within The Panic Center. The core of the Panic Center is the Panic Program, an interactive 12-Session cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) course. How Can the Panic Center Help Me? Each person has unique goals in their treatment. Some wish to overcome specific fears, while others may be tired of going to the emergency room with panic symptoms. Whatever your motivation, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is a common and very effective treatment for anxiety and panic. You can use the tools whether or not you are taking medication, and whether or not you are currently seeing a therapist or mental health professional. The Panic Program has a number of tools and resources to help each individual challenge their anxiety and win. We hope that you take advantage of our program and tools at this time. We look forward to hearing from you again soon. Melanie _______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team

Hello Everyone, I dont really know how to word this or explain it but i will try my best. I have an intense fear of doing anything physical ( skiing, skidooing, playing pool, darts etc..) Im not afraid of getting hurt or anything, im afraid of looking foolish because i might not know what im doing. normally this wouldnt cause a problem in my life,,, but when people ask me to do stuff such as the things mentioned above i feel that i have to lie to them and say i dont like those things because im think that they will think im weird or strange for having such an intense fear of those things. Most of the people in my life are very outgoing people that will try almost anything, and are not afraid of looking silly in front of anyone, and they dont understand how i can be afraid of such 'petty' things. I was just wondering if anyone else has or has had this problem and how did you deal with it if you have? Thanks in advance -maddie
