Hi Twisted, I understand your fear and confusion in this situation. We all have been there! But try to look on the bright side, maybe this is a great opportunity for you to do some exposure work. Take all the sheets with you, and monitor your fear every 5 minutes. That way, you will feel more in control. Yes, it will feel uncomfortable and horrible etc, but we MUST FACE THIS someday or another and it may as well be NOW. You are strong. Nothing is wrong with you or any of us. We just have higher levels of anxiety and we must accept that and work through. Believe that this will get better!!! I say you just go. I mean, you will not be driving.....at least you can work on doing some deep breathing!! If you feel too panicky, let your uncle got off the exit and stop for a few minutes until your anxiety calms down a bit....then get right back on! Take tiny steps....there is nothing wrong with that. WE are all here for you. Let me knwo what you think. merry christmas if i dont' get a chance to hear from you!

hi there, i suffer from agoraphobia and the past few months its got worse and worse and now to the point of i cant travel in a car/bus etc and can only make it just down my road, before i panic and have to come home. but the main prob with this is my family want me to come home for xmas, they live about 400 miles away. now my uncle lives down here and is driving up there and can take me, and we tried exposure tricks in his car, i paniced when he took me on the dual carridgeway so we had to come off after 5 mins. ive told my family that i doubt i'll be able to make it back as im gonna be in the car at least 6 hours and it'll prob be longer as its xmas and i know im gonna freak out, but they dont seem to understand and try to guilt trip me into coming. and im at a lost at what to do. has anybody got any ideas?
