going out in the evenings

Rowan, That's great progress! Congratulations! Keep working through the program and tracking your anxiety. Sometimes, taking baby steps towards your goals is the only way to go. Don't discourage you'll be out socializing some time soon, just keep up the great efforts. Post as often as you like, that's what we're here for and we are more than happy to help! Hello everyone, sorry to keep posting again and again but I'm finding getting advice from other people in this situation so helpful! I am doing the program and am starting to feel tons more confident going out during the day and getting to the shops etc. I'm also fine with having friends round to my house and can even have a few drinks now. My problem is that I have a wardrobe full of new clothes bought for me for my recent birthday as everyone knows I love fashion! I really feel that my new clothes would like to go out on the town but Im terrified of going out in the evenings. A friend came round tonight and we intended to go out to the pub but I just could not do it. I seem to be able to make myself go out during the day to shop and exercise and go for walks but I cannot bring myself to socialize outside the house. I'd really love for people to share their experiences with doing this and find out what works and what doesn't. I reckon I could handle going to the cinema as its quite a quiet thing to do but id love to go to a bar or party or even to someone elses house for a few drinks but the though fills me with fear!!! Thankyou xxx
