Anyone taking Effexor??

19 years ago 0 33 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I,ve been on effexor for 2 years. I started out the first week with 37.5 mg then increased after 1 week to 75 mg. Don't stop taking it. I stopped after one year thinking I was cured because I had not experienced an attack in over 6 months. BIG MISTAKE!!!! I now get panic attacks about 5 days a week and had to increase my dose to 112.5 mg. I've been back on my meds for 7 months. Insomnia is a bad side effect. It takes about 8 weeks to kick in. just keep on it.

I just started taking Effexor a few days ago and didn't really seem to have any serious side effects. The first night I couldn't sleep but that may have been just me worrying about things. I have had some reasonable sleep since. My question is this; does Effexor really work? I have some anxiety issues and infrequent panic attacks and based on what other people have posted my symptoms don't really seem that bad. Any comments on this would be appreciated!

Oh, I forgot to mention....maybe ask your doctor to take it before bedtime. If you are taking at bedtime ask if you can take in the am.

Yes, it does get better. Take advantage of this energy and EXERCISE, clean your house...make something positive because this energy will decrease.
