Feeling like my body is seperate from my head?

hi Jen. What do you mean by spinny feeling in your head? I get a weird sensation in my head too, I call it dizzy, but its not a normal dizzy feeling if you know what I mean. It seems to come when I am in a very busy situation, ie. getting all the kids to settle down for supper (they are a lively, noisy bunch) or if I am very tired or reading a computer screen. I am glad that I don't have it while driving - that would be scary. This feeling in my head use to set off an immediate panic attack, sometimes very violent strong attacks. No that I have been going through this program and have had "counselling" from my husband for a few weeks the bad panic attacks have almost subsided. I just get these weird head feelings, weak feeling and a tightness in my left shoulder. You say your feelings hit you "out of the blue". That's how I feel too. But now that I am really taking note of what is going on (on the CBT program) I have noticed that most of my attacks seem to come at the busy times at our home, or in the church coffee hall, and in stores and banks. Maybe you have a bad association with driving, or just don't like driving and that is why it hits you at that time. Take care. Carol

Hi everyone, I sure hope someone can relate. Sometimes, lately it's been often, I get the feeling like I'm not inside my body. I get really disoriented and I feel like I can look down at my hands and feet but I don't really feel like they're attached to my body, and then I fear that I won't be able to control them. I get a funny feeling in my head, and it's like a spinny kinda feeling but then I go full blown panic and I feel like I'm going to forget my name or how to drive or I'm going to crash my car or forget how to walk or something. It truly is a fear that I'm going to juts lose my mind. And I know I'm not, and usually as soon as I'm home it goes away, but still, it hits me out of the blue, mostly when I'm driving. It's terrifying...can anyone relate? If so, please tell me your experiences!!! Jen
