Socially anxious guy with presentation on mind.

Practice your presentation. Not once or twice, but over and over. When I was in law school, I was terrified of public speaking, but I joined Moot Court to get over my fear. I did my speech over and over in my apartment (you may want to practice from an outline, instead of a word for word document, otherwise you may sound rehearsed). I even practiced in the shower. I would also recommend practicing it in an empty classroom or conference room when no one is around, if you can find one. Do some relaxation, especially the night before and the morning of the speak. The obsessive practicing works, I promise you...after my first Moot Court argument, the Dean of our law school asked my partner and I to join the prestigious external competition team. And to think that I was just trying to get through the speech without passing out!! Good luck!

May just have to bite the bullet and get up there, scary as that sounds. Would you be able to do some relaxation/visualization techniques before you go up to present? It would seem to me that your presentation would be better given with clarity of mind... as long as you can somewhat quiet the anxiety. Best wishes!

I've got to make a presentation soon and I hate the anticipation anxiety. Does anyone have a suggestion? I crumble just at the thought of being the centre of attention. The only thing I can think of is to severely dose myself up. Although, I still need some level of comprehention to answer any questons. And no, I can't get out of it. Presentations are a mandatory part of my course requirements for university. I am open to drug suggestions. All I'm on at the moment are sedatives (since last week). Please reply, I would very much apreciate it.
