Hi Pouvoir,
It's good to hear that you made it through the week without smoking.  I know you do not feel like celebrating yet, but you deserve to for sure. You held strong even with all your emotions being pulled in every direction. Hope your husband is doing okay too. Eating too much and not exercising is normal at the start of a quit, and you had a good reason to do it this week. Hope you and your husband will be feeling better soon. Try and keep yourself busy and enjoy your gardening if you can.
Stay strong.

Rough week.
Ate too much and didn't exercise enough, but I do remain a non-smoker, so that's good.
Something to celebrate.

So sorry to hear of your loss. It's never easy to lose a best friend and part of your family. I have had to do that too many times in my life, it's never easy.

My heart goes out to you today pouvoir.  I'm sorry you are going through this.  You're absolutely right that a smoke won't change the situation, stop the situation, or solve your sadness, so cry freely, feel those feels (without trying to stuff them down with nicotine), and we're all here for you as you continue on.  No one said quitting would be easy; they said it would be worth it.

Ugh.  So today is the day we euthanize our beautiful Cleo.  Fortunately, we got a vet to do the procedure in our home, which is great because going to the vet completely stresses Cleo out.

But it's a sad grey day. And although I would really love a cigarette, I'm not going to have one.  It won't help me feel better about any of this.

Soooo sorry to hear this. Our pets are so beloved to us and losing them is so terribly sad. We may have to euthanise our cat soon also and that will test me. For me its the side of  smoking l miss most.....the fact that it used to comfort me. We have to be strong and remind ourselves that smoking is not going to stop the pain we feel. It will actually be an added stress. Best wishes.

Hi Pouvoir,
My condolences to you and your husband on your beloved pet.  They're not really pets they are part of the family, at least as far as I'm concerned. We had to put down all three of our cats last year for various reasons and it is so hard. We had them for 15-18 years. My eyes are welling up for you already. Do your best to stay strong, and remember, it's best for Cleo at this stage in her life. I'm sure you gave her a wonderful life too.
Try and stay busy as best you can, and  I wish you and your husband the best. There are always going to be bumps in the road on your journey to freedom from smoking, and this is going to be a very big test for you.
Stay strong.
