Well I hope you have come out of terrible mental phase..Quitting smoking is not easy but you have done that for 16 days which is awesome.. Just maintain your mental level and quit smoking rest of your life..
hey jamet congratz on 16 days. Remember to take this one day at a time. I understand this is a difficult day for you and it will NOT be the only one.you have to accept that and keep your dedication. It goes easier and easier with time..cravings become less and less and last shorter and shorter and their intensity too. there will be days that you will barely think about smoking and when you think agh! this is over i did it! cravings will come back at full speed at times you least expect. but its how you manage it.do you say scrue it and go buy tobacco from the store or do you dig deep for determination like I did and stay dedicated. its just 5 minutes or so and then you forget it. Thats what i did and i lasted 40 days!! i didnt even think about smoking anymore believe it or not i hated it but something stressful happened to me and in a moment of despair i went, bought and smoked..i felt bad afterwards..i mean really really bad but i keep on smoking 2 days now. Did i feel better? NO,i felt worse. i came out as a looser and not a winner. I could be on day 42 now,but instead i am on day -1 before i quit again. But i dont quit trying.
Please keep up.do something,go hiking, make a sandtwitch, sleep, dance, clean your house do something and then its easy again.. i hope to hear from you tomorrow on your 17th day smoke free! if you win it we all do! sorry for long post :S

Thank you so much lolly, han, hotsio and whisper for your replies , they have really helped me through these 2 days and today was one of the best days i have had and its day 18 :) im going to keep strong and remember the good things of being a non smoker , I think today was the first time I realised I am officially A non smoker now :D
Awww you poor thing, I'm so sorry to hear that you haven't been well and I hope you make a speedy recovery.
You have had some excellent replies and comments from Lolly, Hot and Han, and I just wanted to throw something else into the pot. Instead of viewing thing as missing out, remind yourself of all your reasons for quitting. Look at all the things you are gaining by not smoking...ie: your health, wealth, freedom from addiction, ability to breathe better, improved sense of smell and taste, fresher breath, fresher skin etc etc... I could go on and on.
Lolly asked you to find really good reasons why smoking is great. I actually found some on another website and will copy and paste them below for you.

Well there were 100 reasons to smoke and the last one was actually the only reason not to smoke...
101 The only reason not to smoke - is if you don't want all that crap up there.
I hope you see where I'm coming from.
Amanda we are all rooting for you, stay strong, you can do this.
Sorry to hear that the flu bug got you and hope that you are feeling better! And now that you are feeling better the ol' nico-demon is back to it's old tricks!!! The battles continue, but we already know that you want your freedom more than you want to smoke! So now it's all about committing to N.O.P.E. Oh, and finding something to do to occupy that time you formerly spent smoking!
Hopefully the first thing on your list is to log in here like you did and post your concerns and frustrations and then read through some other posts to check on your new fellow quit buddies progress! That should take up most of your break time, right? Oh, be sure to save a quick moment for the rest room!!! I made it a daily routine to get away from the shop and start climbing the stairs... I'd climb each stair and rhythmically deep breath in time with my steps! Counting the steps and breathing deep would clear my mind, give me a bit of exercise and bring some needed oxygen into my body!
Another thing you could do in your "spare" time is to create a bucket list of different things you want to do with your free time or for when the weather gets nicer or for a summer vacation!!! Look at you!!! Over $200 saved in less than 3 weeks!!! You've given yourself one helluva raise and you should also think about the rewards you are going to bestow upon yourself because you really do deserve them for winning these battles every day!
There are a lot of posts here on the Forums pertain to exactly what you are going through. Read through the title pages and pick out some threads to read and think about. A couple of us have been bumping forward different threads that we think are going to be helpful to our new quit buddies. Check them out when you get a chance! Like I've said before, there is a wealth of information here on the Forums!
Stick close and continue to holler when you need a hand! You're doing GREAT so far, buddy!!!
Yeah Lolly, you are right. Quitting is not a event, its a process which has huge emotional upheaval. sometimes I also feel I've lost something important in my life. but when I remember the troubles caused because of smoking, it strengthens my determination not to Smoke.
Jamet, when you are surrounded by your smoking friends, instead of grieving, you should think you have accomplished something really big that your friends did not. if you continue this for some more days you'll gain respect from your smoker friends. and who know's you might even encourage them to quit.
Sorry to hear about your 'flu'. Hope you are feeling a bit better now.
As for the other bit of your post...Quitting is a process. It goes on for quite a while but gets better as time goes on. It is not an 'event' when suddenly the difficulties are all over. You are grieving for the 'something' you have lost....but just think what would happen if you were to go back. Really you answered your own question! You feel a bit down as you have been ill. You saw a few of your smoking friends, and that reminded you about your 'loss'. Do try to avoid being around smoke and smoking for a while. I'm sure you can think of something to do when you are 'bored' rather than smoking.
Many people feel as you do at some point in a quit. Quitting is a huge emotional upheaval, and often feels like you have 'lost' your best friend, so you grieve the passing. I hope you have made lists of the pros and cons of quitting. Try to find really good reasons why smoking is so great. Go back and read posts, including your own....when you were fired up with a determination to quit. BUT
Hey guys, sorry I haven't been here in a couple days I came down with the flu the last couple of days.today is day 16 today and im pretty happy. The only thing that's giving me a hard time now is I feel like I'm missing out on it, I guess its the mental part of it or maybe its because I was sick but it really bugs me , I was just wondering when this doesn't get as bad . I probably feel like this today cause I had a few friends that I used to smoke with and now when I went over today I did feel lost I tried to feel occupied but it was difficult because if I was bored or wanted to have a break I would have a smoke now that I don't have this I feel lost I have tried to avoid being around smoking but though I could handle it but now I feel like I'm losing everything :(
