Day 1

11 years ago 0 52 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
4 1/2 hours will be 2 days smoke-free!! It's actually not going to bad,,,over-all. I think cutting down helped a lot because the last time I quit I was smoking a pack a day and used the patch to quit but it was torture. This time was down to 3 a day and am taking wellbutrin. I'm suprised how easy it is compared to the last time. I'm happy that I'm not sucking that poison down my throat and that my body is healing.
I really appreciate the support, thank you very much
Aside from rollerskating I plan to take it easy this weekend & keep drinking lots of water.

Hey Cherie!!!

Looks like you have a great start on your forever quit!  Keep on distracting yourself!!!  I agree with Breather 100%.... Reward yourself often!  Why?  Just one of those things that gotta be done to keep ol' nic in the rear view mirror!  I'm about ready to head home and enjoy a nice cool reward myself!!!

      Way to go!!!

Congrats on day one!

Sounds like you are doing great. Staying busy and distracted is a good idea. How do you plan on keeping busy this weekend?

Yay for you quit4life. You're doing awesome. We need to get some of the firsts behind us to build the confidence that we can actually do this and we can actually do this. First smoke free shopping trip , etc , etc. Have you read The Easy Way to Stop Smoking by Alan Carr ? I found this book to be extremely helpful. Excellent for you for putting day 1 behind you ! breather

yayyyy made it through day 1!! Making it through today was a reward in itself. I went to Macys & tried on shoes but didn't buy any. Then went to tj max & looked around. Then went to the grocery store. Point is, I kept busy and was actually able to replace negative thoughts with positive ones. I'm very excited about being a non smoker again!!

yay day 1 is behind me now

Congratulations on Day 1 ! in 2 more days, the nicotine should be cleared out of your system, and you will begin to feel a lot better. Definitely stay busy in the next few days.

And breather is right about those rewards, especially in the beginning days.  Personally, I ate out several times in the first few weeks. That's probably not the best thing long term for the waist or the wallet, but it helped me get through the early struggle.

Keep us updated on how you are doing!

quit4life1111   Have you thought about a reward for yourself for not smoking today ? We're all about rewards here. It doesn't have to be anything that costs alot but just something for yourself to say to yourself that you've done great today. Some people save what they didn't spend on the addiction to reward themselves with something in the future like a trip to Hawaii or something. At any rate the smoker that didn't smoke today is a miracle and should be acknowledged as exactly that. Yay for you. breather
