Needing a little guidance!

I'm feeling a lot better actually. No i haven't connected with my friend and i probably never will. I've come to the realization that i don't need someone like that in my life, if she can do this to me now, what other things is she capable of. Thanks Hot SiO2 for the kind words. I took them to heart. I'm not taking the blame for any of this. She knew what she did was wrong and it cost her a 9 year friendship. Thank you all for being so understanding and helpful. It really means a lot to me!

Hi Kristen,

Hope you've been feeling better these last few days!  Have you reconnected with your friend?

I just want to tell you that I'm so happy to see you have surpassed 100 days smoke free!  Hope you have been celebrating!

Hi Kristen!!!

Congratulations to you on remaining smoke-free for 109 days!!!  One helluv an accomplishment!!  Please try to take the next few weeks as slow and calm as you can!  Also, try to keep that Positive Mental Attitude approach to your life, your friends and all that you do!  I know it is very hard this time of year... for everyone!  The holiday season is one of the most stressful times of the year, so try to keep things in perspective.  If the talking makes things worse, just stop talking for a while!  If it's not your fault, DO NOT take the blame!  Don't let anyone lay a guilt trip on you!  You are the most important person in your life right now, and you do not have to make anyone happy except for you!  Sometimes you need to just sit back and reflect and let your friend(s) do the same.  True friends will always come back with a smile and a hug and try to see how to make things better!  The bottom line here... do what ever it takes to protect your quit!  You have a LOT invested in that part of your life!!!

        Be calm!
           Jim

It's definitely more challenging.. Because you're having an argument with someone you've known for so long and it seems no matter what you say it just keeps getting worse.. You kinda feel like it's all your fault, even it if isn't.

Hi Kristen,

First of all, congrats on being smoke free for 4 months!

I am sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time with your best friend.

Do you feel that conflicts with friends or family make keeping your quit more challenging? If so, what kinds of things can you do to keep a handle on the negative emotions and maintain your quit?

Please keep us posted.

Not meaning to sound demanding.. The holiday season isn't really getting to me much anymore, because well, it's almost over.. I got into a fight with my best friend over something so stupid and trivial.. I've been smoke free for almost 4 months. Long time for someone that smoked as much and as long as i did.
