Question about meds

Thanks for the info, the compliment and your prayers Debbie! I really appreciate it! I read that you hadn't any panic for a few days - that is so fabulous!!! You deserve it! I'm still having a hard time sleeping. I think it started from the fear of the new job, but I think it has turned into a fear of not being able to sleep. I am so frustrated about this! That is why I've been thinking about getting back on something. I lay in bed for hours every night trying to force myself to sleep and getting more and more anxious as the clock ticks on. I pray this goes away soon! I am so tired!

Hi VIckers, I am trying to get my nurse to put me BACK on Paxil, I was on it the withdrawal lasted about a month, I was taking Zolof right after stopping the Paxil that probably helped, Paxil calmed me but made me gain weight, the Zoloft I feel did not help, it is too activating except at a low-dose. I feel I did my best on 12.5 Paxil CR in the morn and a 0.5 Klonpin and night. I do understand you fear of addiction, I have that too, I probably "under-medicate" myself because I fear addiction, I know I have a tolerence to Klonopin, not addicted but dependent but I take just one day before bed to help me sleep. I have read something called "valerian" is good or "Kava-Kava" they work similar to a benzo but are not addicting, they relax you but you can NOT take them if you are taking a benzo or SSRI because of interactions, another words its one or another. I hope you are doing well, I have prayed for you to sleep because I know you have started a new job and need rest, I have asked GOd to let you rest and sleep, before this panic thing started I use to take "unisom" over the counter to sleep it worked pretty well. Let me know how the job is going and how you are feeling, Please be proud of yourself, I can tell by your posts you are a warm caring person and you deserve happiness. God bless, Debbie.

I took Paxil for 7 years. It worked so well that I decided I had this beat and decided to get off it. I went through such massive withdrawals that I will not allow myself to get back on it. There is no way I can go through that again! It was so horrifying every single day for the three months it took to wean off it that it's just not an option - I can't. I am terrified of getting on any meds that I would have to take every day because of the addiction I just got over. But, there are some days that I just really feel like I need something - like today. I know meds are just a crutch and that the healing has to come from within and I am working on doing that through the Panic Program. Still, some days are really hard to just function through. Anyway.... here is my question. I would like to get some opinions on the meds that you don't need to take every day but just during the heat of the moment. Please tell me about your meds and what helps you. If you can include side effects or worries about them, I would appreciate that, too. I've tried some herbs but I haven't found one that works fabulously well for me. Any info on herbs you have taken would be appreciated also. Thanks you guys!
