A funny thing just happened...

Fozzy5, I would like to say it does get easier...and it does somewhat...the good hours come more often, but the bad hours are still really bad...I just use a lot of self talk...."I do not want to smoke again" I will not let nicodemon win anymore" "I want to become a non-smoker" etc. etc. etc.

Hang in there we all are here to help.

Hey Charm,

Congratulations on 14 days.  I can't wait to get to that point.  Does it get easier?

You are so right about that Fozzy5 of how much your life has to change to be smokefree.

I smoked for 40 years, everything I do is a reminder (trigger). But we don't have to act upon it, just talk our way out of the moment and move on.

I am just 14 days into my current and last quit...so am with you all the way...We can do this won day at a time.

I know, a lot of inidividuals don't realize that before they quit.  But you are ahead of the game if you are aware of this and actively trying to find replacements!

I've just been drinking it.  I have a couple of cups at work and I didn't always smoke with every cup so it hasn't been that bad.

I have also been drinking alot of water and trying to cut down on my cafeine intake.

It's amazing how much your life has to chance to be smoke-free.

Yup!

That will happen. Just a little reminder of how engrained the habit is.  What are you having or doing with your tea instead of smoking now?

So I've been smoke-free going on 11 days and I was just making myself some tea at work when I checked my pocket for my lighter.  It wasn't there in case anyone was wondering but it's just so weird that I did that.  I guess getting tea is a reminder because I'd make myself a cup of tea and then go and smoke a cigarette.

I guess these things will happen for a long time.  22 years is a long time.

Have a good day all!

Fozzy5
