Re: feel out of control

Just thought that I would respond, as a person having this problem for the past 10 years, the element of being around crowds. That the anxiety can stem from that and grow into physcosymatic feelings as you mentioned. The reason I responded is that I just had the same experience. I was a the mall with my sister. I also conclude that if you have had a recent attack of anxiety, that it is common to get more attacks because of the chemicals already within your blood stream Cortisol / Adrenalin. I believe it is important to put some distance between attacks by the use of medication. I suppose there is no spell check here? I agree with Debbi about using small doses. The lightheadedness is common reaction to axiety as you can deduce from this site. I do not have the silver bullet solution to this problem, just learn to deal with it and always be open to learn from others and seek to know what works for others may work for me and you.

Karen, This happens to me too, probably alot of people on the panic site have felt this way. What I normally to is try to sit down and if possible put some cold water on my face and wrists and try to breath, till you get use to going out taking a low-dose Xanax should be alright, take it before you leave the house, you will not be on it forever and just use it till you feel better, I use to be so anti-medication, but I keep my doses low and use them as an aid till I can do without. You had said you had stopped for some pizza {that sounds so good} you could of been hungry and your blood sugar was a bit low and you needed something to eat, that happens to me when I need to eat, a piece of candy, glass of orange juice or a little coke or ginger ale usually helps me, did you feel better once you ate? That sounds like you got light-headed from being a bit hungry, I hope you are feeling better. It will get easier. God bless, Debbie.

Today I stopped for a piece of pizza at the mall before shopping. I get a feeling of lightheadness and an out of control like I am going to faint! I control it but it is so frightening. I have been taking a little zanax when this happens and seems to help but wish it would stop!!!! Anyone else ever have this happen? I feel like I force myself to go out I don't want to get agrophobic. Any ideas how to help myself withou t the use of drugs?
