Janet, WOOHOO and look at you!  You're taking the nicodemon by the horns and telling him that he no longer controls your life!  They call the first week of quitting Hell Week because it truly is Hell.  Week 2 (Heck Week) isn't a whole lot better.  But know that you have the whole SSC community here supporting you.  And that these temporary inconveniences will yield HUGE permanent improvements!  Use the search feature here to reach old posts as there is a wealth of knowledge.  Make sure your quit plan under "my program" is still accurate.  Are you treating yourself like royalty and rewarding yourself appropriately?  Post as often as you  need, as somebody is always near by!  We're all rooting for your success!

P.S.  Glad your husband is there with you!

Thanks Jim and you are SO right!  That Nicodemon is NOT going to beat me!  I'm not letting him take that control back from me.  I have the control now, it's mine, I've earned it, and he's not getting it back.  SO there!

Hey Janet!!!

What Kelly said!!!  Head up, chest out, take each and every crave as a challenge that needs to be won!  You have prepared for this and you are NOT going to let anything stop you!  Maintain that Positive Mental Attitude and direct any anger, hate, or whatever at the nico-demon.  Every time you get through a crave, it should reinforce in you that you CAN make it through the next one, and the next one, and so on!!!  Your resolve will get stronger and stronger and the addiction will get weaker and weaker!

You made it through the toughest day yesterday and you did NOT smoke!  One minute at a time today and think about that reward you are going to give yourself for making it through another day smoke free!

         You  CAN  do it!!!

                   Jim

I am feeling pretty strong at the moment - the cravings haven't been totally unbearable today; so I'm focusing on that.

Hello Janet, it's nice to see youre still with us.
I just wanted to say keep your chin up and focus on the positives of quitting because they last forever.  The suffering of your quit is temporary (although it may not feel like it)  You are strong and I believe in you

Janet,

You are doing great, another morning down and a day on its way...keep breathing and ignorning the unsupportive co workers.  I stayed here and talked about it, I didn't talk to people at work to much, was always afraid some idiot would say something stupid and I would fly off the handle.  You will be ok, you just need to relax your shoulders, take a sip of water, lean back in your chair and take a moment every once and awhile, this is tough stuff!!

I'm still here, still not smoking and ready to shoot someone.  BUT, I'm going to put my best foot forward, try to NOT let this DAMN Nicodemon win and get through today.  I went to bed at 8:00 last night...sleep seems to be the best way for me to deal with this.
Thank you everyone for your words of wisdom - I will use every bit of advice I can get to get pasty this mean ole' nasty stage I'm currently residing in.

I'll be here, lurking in the corners sucking on a lollipop...
