♥Thank you Rock!♥

Well, I made it through the work day as smoke free!!  Yay Me!

Whenever the crave started I looked at my "NOPE" sign and took some deep breaths!

You all have a wonderful weekend - I will try and check in from home over the weekend to see how things are going with everyone, and hopefully by then, I can support someone as well.

? ? Much Respect ? ?

Shortcake, if you need any help, just reach out and grab one of our hands!  We're all here to help!  Just remember N.O.P.E., and if things get really tough, post and wait for 5 responses before you act on any craving!  You can do this!

Laney - thanks for the compliment on my name "Sh♥rtcake" - it is my biker road name and I go by it with my friends - and I consider everyone here my friends that are helping me stay away from the nicodemon!

I am starting my day off on a positive note and pray it stays that way...if not, I will be here to post, but not smoke!!

Hey 'Shortcake", love the name! Use this experience to your advantage! You know it tasted awful and that it won't help any situation and you know you don't want to go back, so use the post it and any other tools to remind you of why you want to move forward and stay quit! You made it through this test! Congratualtions! Keep on saying NOPE!

I wanted to thank everyone for your kind words and support.  I really felt horrible this morning, but I am feeling much better now!    I have written on a Post-It note N.O.P.E.  and put it on my cubical so whenever I get frustrated and start fighting the cravings I can look at it and know that I have quit and I AM NOT going back!

Again, thank you all, I am so happy to have somewhere to go to vent and lean on those that are going through (or have gone through) what I am at that moment.

I know the first couple of weeks are called "HELL" for a reason, and I am going to give it a "HELL OF A FIGHT".

Keep smiling & quitters always win!!

Hey again!

Like Ashley said, do not beat yourself up over a small slip, especially in the beginning!  During the first part of our quits, we were all a bit crazed and not thinking clearly!    One thing to do is to keep our acronym in the forefront of your brain and that is N.O.P.E...  Not One Puff Ever!  Yes, for most of us, we are one puff away from a pack a day!  The nico-demon is going to be testing you severely during your first few weeks, so I will mirror what Cameless stated and go through the milestones in the Program and get your coping mechanisms worked out as soon as possible!  Preparation and a Positive Mental Attitude will help you immensely!!!   You CAN do this, so keep telling yourself that!

        Jim

PS  Stick close to the site and read and learn!!!  Knowledge is power and there is a wealth of knowledge on this addiction and ways to over come all aspects of defeating the nico-demon!  Ask if you have questions or just come here to rant and rave!  You have LOTS of new quit buddies now!

Shortcake,

Try not to be too hard on yourself, slips happen.  You recognized it and fixed it. What have you learned? How will you prevent this in the future?

Be careful with the coffee and candies, the sugar and caffeine may make you feel irritable.  Try drinking ice water.  The water will help to flush out the nicotine and keep your hands busy.  Get back on that horse and stick with it!

Keep posting!
