Why did they change the name of Paxil? What does it mean it has a long half life? I to took the paxil for like 3 years and also gained weight on it. I am hoping another ssri doesn't do that to me should I decide to go back on meds again.

I am glad you can get a new medicine. Seems like evrything went well for youtoday. You didn't have to go to see the nurse and you got the med switch. I hope both of our med switches go well! I haven't changed anything yet. I am going to see if I am pregnant first. I really hope I am. I get to test leter this week and will let you all know.

My nurse just gave me several samples of "Pexava" its Paxil under a new name with a longer half-life. I use to take Paxil 3 years ago, it caused weight gain but I felt so much better, she said if I promised to exercise and not overeat I should do well. The Zoloft was not helping it made me feel like I was taking speed and was actually increasing panic. I do not know if this is the answer? I know meds do not do it all, I know Paxil calmed me, I also heard sometimes meds do not work the same after you stop then resume sometime later, what I do know is that I want to live a normal life, I will always have high anxiety and I even would live with a panic attack once a week, but several times in one day was so terrible. Has anyone heard of this form of Paxil? I so hope this well help me get well again. Debbie.
