Hi Tim
Welcome to SSC.
Congratulations on your three smoke free days! This is awesome. I also joined in day 4 of my quit because I had never survived three days without a smoke. And thanks to this site I'm 6t months smoke free!
I can relate to you. This is the first forum I joined. I didn't believe in support groups. And I changed my mind completely!
We are here rooting for your success.
Grab your ice water, practice deep breathing, and go trough my program. You will be fine. If I can do it,you can do it. I'm sure of that!
Hugs
Marivi

Welcome to the family Tim! We are glad to have you.

Congratulations on three days! You are halfway through Hell week, the hardest week.

It was a smart decision to come on here.   Although you may feel you can do it on your own, your odds of staying quit are greater if you have support and this online community is fantastic for support and advice.  Many members can attest that without this site they might not have been able to stay quit; so stick with us and ask for help as much as you can!

You have already been given a lot of great advice, follow it and post often.  Stay close to the forums this week. Post/read and drink ice water whenever you feel a bad crave.

You will do this!

Stay strong

Fantastic, Tim!  I used the same quit method as you, and then joined up here a week or two later.  Here I am 4 1/2 years later! It takes persistence and stubbornness -- you can make it happen!

Tim, welcome to the SSC and congratulations on your decision to quit smoking!  Go though "my program" so you have a quit plan in place.  You've quit, now you need to be prepared for whatever the nicodemon throws your way to draw you back.  Set up your quit meter and add it to your postings from "my profile".  Read as much as you can as there is a wealth of knowledge here at the SSC.  Use the search feature to look up topics affecting your quit to see how other members dealt with different stuations!  Post as often as you need, if only to rant and rave!  Drink lots of iced water to flush the toxins out of your system and help with the cravings!  And finally, set up a reward system to celebrate your success!  Daily and weekly rewards are a great way to celebrate reaching milestones!  We're all rooting for your success!

Hi Tim,

My quit was pretty spontaneous too; although I have to admit that the unexplained blood in my mouth in the mornings concentrated my mind somewhat!

I'd quit many times before and failed but this time this site helped me make this quit stick. It turned out to be the difference I needed.

Good Luck
