deb,

It is so good to hear that you had such a great day!  You have been able to fight those cravings successfully and come out on top as a non-smoker!

In terms of your itchy scalp, some people find the surface of the scalp is very sensitive for a few days. Even touching or combing hair can be painful. This can be attributed to the blood pressure change as general circulation improves.

How long will this last? The first few weeks after quitting.
Tips to help: Use a soft brush, or ask you doctor or pharmacists for products that may assist you.

If you have a symptom that persists or seems worse than you expected, you should immediately consult a doctor. It’s possible that your smoking has been masking symptoms of some illness, and when you stop smoking the symptoms abruptly become noticeable.

Believing in yourself and viewing yourself as a non-smoker is incredibly important to a successful quit.

Members, deb has brought up a number of important points in her post. What are your reactions to this? What do you think i the most important part of your quit?

Keep up the great work deb, you can do this!

Hello Deb Good that you're checking in. Reading and posting. Excellent that you've had a good day. Sometimes they're few and far between at the start. Some have it easy and others not so. Every quit is different. You're the most important person here. I hope this is the start of you feeling good by not smoking. At some point the thoughts leave which makes it worthwhile. At around 7 weeks I seemed to wake up and smoking wasn't a real issue anymore. It becomes a choice and apparently you've made the right one. It always was a choice. We're proud and rooting for your success. Excellent breather 156 Addict 0

Way to go, Deb.  Isn't it great to breathe freely and be in control of your being?

Be proud of your accomplishment.  Reward yourself frequently.

Keep your eye on the prize and keep your guard up!  You're the boss.
