HELP!!!

Hi Danni,
I was so proud of you for posting yesterday instead of smoking. I am so sorry that there was no one there for you to turn to and to help you. That really hardly happens unless it is in the middle of the nite. I know it is hard. You can read other's posts from the past to see how they handled it when they were in you situation. I know it is not the same, but it is something. just use the search and put in a word or phrase and it should bring up some posts to help you. You can also look up different people you may admire, or some of the posts from the "Greats". That is what I call them. They are just very insightfull people like nonic, Todash, Penitent, Daily Lama, anxious1 story is inspiring, I have a hard time remembering things, perhaps someone can help with more names. You can see what these people have done and learned through their trials and quits. Their insites are simply amazing, and you come away with a deeper understanding of yourself and your quit. Please post and let us know how you are. I f you did slip, come back and start over for yourself and for your family. I know how hard it is to quit when someone in the house still smokes. I have that situation too. But the quit is for you and for peanut and it is your quit, so you are the only one that counts. YOU CAN DO THIS...ONE DAY AT A TIME, ONE MINUTE AT A TIME. Remember Not One Puff Ever NOPE, not one.
I wish for you and peanut all good things. Pray a lot, drink lots of ice water, have your emergency crave pack ready and let's get this done.

Hello Danni Dealing with frustration is hard at the best of times let alone adding quitting smoking into the mix. You have a choice in whether things upset you or not. H.A.L.T.  Don't get to Hungry , Angry , Lonely , or Tired. You've almost made it through 1 week and you CAN do this. Choose not to smoke. breather 71 Addict 0

Don't give up.  Remember that smoking does nothing to relieve stress it just adds more.  You don't need it.  Take it one step at a time one crave at a time.  Each time you beat it you get stronger and the demon gets weaker.  Believe me it does get better.  It does get easier.

Talk to your husband as with the new one brewing it's important that you do quit.  He should be supportive and helpful.

My wife quit last March I took it upon myself to not smoke in the house.  During bad weather she said it would be ok if we smoked in the garage or basement but if that bothers you it should be outside.  Don't demand it talk to him tell him how it makes you feel.

Danni, so sorry you had a bad day.  It is truth in advertising when they call it "Hell Week".  That nasty nicodemon will throw stress and temptation at you from every angle.  But as Angie said below, smoking isn't going to make anything better.  In fact, your prior post said you were so excited to tell your doctor that you were smoke free.  You can still tell your new doctor that you are smoke free.  What a wonderful way to meet your new doctor and be able to check the box "non-smoker"!  I hope you can focus on your knitting, otherwise you may end up with a sweater with 3 sleeves or socks with 6 toes!  LOL!  You can beat the nicodemon!!!  We're all rooting for your success!

We're here!!!!  Step outside, take a deep fresh breath and try to focus on why you want to quit in the first place.  You can do this!  Hang in there.  It doesn't matter what your husband does, this quit is for you.  Your doctor situation will work out, and nothing will be gained by smoking.

You really can do this.  You are strong enough.
Right there with you.
Angie

Hey

I am am having the nic fit from hell right now - my doctors appointment felll through because our new insurance company sucks so I spent 3 hours on the phome finding a new doctor who is 45 minutes away. To top that off my husband told me it was all MY fault and then smoked in the basement when he promised me he would smoke outside. So now I am alone at home craving a nicotine ANYTHING and the house reeks of smoke again. Anger and anxiety are my two biggest stressors so that combined with the smell - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Trying to breathe and calm down. I had been knitting to relax but I can not concentrate on anything right now.

I will wait 5 responses like someone else suggested til I do anything.

Danni - congratulations on your pregnancy and your quit!  Just remember you are doing this for yourself and your baby both!  Don't make this a temporary quit.  There are also many options for help even when you are pregnant so get in to see your doctor even if it's not quite time for little "Peanut's" first appointment/ultrasound.

You can do this and you and that baby are both worth it!
