Hullo to all you lovely people out there:

Rock - No point hiding in the supply closet ... cos now I know where to find you!! ... (you coward!)
I presume from reading your post that you have animals ... that you love ... ah! now you see Dr Doolittle ... this is why I don't have animals ... I may not be as restrained as you ... I may feel overcome by the need to kick them ... but not if I find you in the supply closet first ... your choice!!!

Thanks for your response ... I know that my behaviour has been a little 'odd' but I am trying to ride out the storm ... and to be fair ... my boss really is a good guy ... now he just thinks that I am a little weird ... but it's a fair observation dont you think??

Thanks for coming to my rescue ... It's nice to know that you are every bit as 'weird' as me ...

Hot Si02 - Now y'see ... you are just like a human form of Vallium ... you just soothe my troubles away and make me smile at the same time ... Wow! ... please let my husband write to you for some hints and tips on how to successfully manage this hot headed woman.  I loved your use of the word 'mellow' ... this is an excellent word ... and I shall think of it often ... right before I let loose on some poor unsuspecting soul ... or right before I find Mr Rock in the supply closet!! ... Thank you for your words of wisdom ... I can tell you have worked hard to get your 250 (or so) days.

bj2705 - Thanks for your pratical hints and tips on how to cope with the cravings ... water is something that is sadly lacking from my daily binges ... I will heed your advice and give it a go.  As for husbands ... don't even get me started ... that is a rant for another day ... and be sure that one will read like War and Peace!

Karren - Phew! ... I knew I could rely on you ... you have been holding my hand since my very first post on my very first day ... and once again ... I thank you.  Who could have guessed that you have the devil in you ... but I agree with you that sometimes being naughty can also be quite nice ... but I have to be careful that I don't take this too far ... I have never been known for my quiet and unassuming manner ... maybe in time I will learn to be more 'MELLOW' ... in the meantime I will keep my gob zipped - sit on my hands - tie up my feet ... and .....  DEEP BREATHS (whilst thinking of a happy place ... maybe in the supply closet with Mr Rock!!) ... see Si02 and Rock postings above for details.

Kelly - I have been reading some of your posts and I got the feeling that this has not been an easy road for you ... I know it's not easy for anyone .. but .. you seem to have had it a little tougher than most ... and therefore if anyone can dish out advice that should be listened to ... it is you.  I am taking a leap of faith here and trusting your words that eventually all this emotional mayhem will 'go away' ... and if it doesn't ... I'll be back on here drilling you for some more support and advice ... in the hope that you will once again be kind enough to respond ... Thank you I appreciate ALL the help I can get right now. x

Miss Marple - I might have guessed!!! ... there is always one late comer who wants to make an entrance ... typical   ... No worries quit buddy ... I survived ... I have been distracted looking for men in closets ... kicking cats and dogs ... drinking water in between deep breathing and feeling mellow ... being 'shocked' at the behavioural confessions of some of our mutual quitter friends (i.e. Karren) and realising that I am not the only one out here who struggles with her anger management issues ... see all postings for details.  You are so right about treating your loved ones badly ... I would never dream of being so grumpy and moody with anyone else ... but then I suppose y'gotta know me to love me ... I am an acquired taste ... and thankfully my husband and kids have developed an enduring taste for Grumpy Woman!!  and thank you ... today has been brighter .... dare I say it ... it has actually been a good day ... what about you???

Some quit buddy I am!  I didn't check late last night or this morning and I wish I had seen it earlier.  Golly, Lil, you sound normal to me...whatever 'normal' is.  I am also suffering from a bit of memory loss and the 'spacey' feeling.  I am actually relieved that you are experiencing it as well.  I thought it was that $hi+ I did at Woodstock
Go ahead and use the SSC as your punching bag if it will save your marriage.  Your husband knows where you live, the lot of us, don't!  Heehee.  Isn't it funny how we often times treat total strangers with more respect than our loved ones?  I'm guilty of that.  I figure my family puts up with me only because I feed them.
Hope today is brighter for you. Lil!

Lil,

Odd t say, but the erratic anger has just been hitting me.  I think its because I am finally off all my medications and only now am I dealing with this "naked".  So, I totally have anger management issues right now.  I am having a lot of marital issues to so that is all bundled up inside and it comes out at odd times, and at people like my boss. We are all good, we are just people, nobody said that non smokers we all calm and collected.  I know a bunch of non smokers that are a$$holes.  So, I guess we are just like them, yippee for us.  And everything else your feeling?  Yes, that will go away, just like Karren and Bonnie stated, I did some really dumb crap in the beginning, looking back now, I wish I could have been watching myself, I am pretty sure I was a hoot.!!

the rollercoaster gets better, just hang on for the ride until it stops.

Lil, you are certainly not alone- early in my quit I developed a Jeykill and Hyde persona, I could fly off the handle at a moments notice and became Michael Douglas out of the movie 'Falling Down' any injustice or  incompetence I couldn't wait to point it out- i got a round of applause in M&S for  arguing the toss about their 'environmental issues' ( i.e paying for their carrier bags), at LLoyds TSB I demanded more staff on the cashier tills at a busy lunchtime, and it went on and on. My behaviour was totally erratic and out of character, but actually I quite enjoyed it!- sad to say I am almost back to my normal fairly compliant self!!

Lil,   I had a heck of a time right around 85 days.. off n on for a bit, once I hit 100 it settled down...  I have mints....

beef jerkey, and also I'm thinking of getting one of those squeezy balls.. to squish .. when I get a craving.  I carried water with me every where for months.. you could follow me.... by half full, full .... bottles of water, in my car, on the end table, night stand, etc...  I also found ice or something really cold helped.. the do have fat free fudgesicles, but the draw backis they are hard to keep with you...

Rant all you want here.  Thats what its all about.     Talking about spacey.... I was shopping.. and going to the exit.. they have glass window panes next to the sliding glass doors.. Thank goodness there was a waist high display.. I stopped just short of walking into the display.. had missed judged the door.. by about a foot..   Great help my husband was.. he said I thought you were going to walk into the window.   I said... great help you are.. were you going to let me?

don't worry your mind will come back.  it is just on a short vacation.

Bonnie

Lil,

Thank you for sharing your experience on the boards. You have received a lot of great advice from other members here, hopefully you will find it helpful!

As mentioned, what you are experiencing can be typical among quitters. However, how you choose to deal with these emotions and behaviour can be very unique. Have you found any coping strategies particularly helpful? Does distracting yourself or chewing ice/ gum help those cravings?

Reflect on what you would find helpful during those difficult times and what you need to get through the cravings. Please continue to post and good luck! You can do this!
