Wow, how things have changed! And definitely, for the better...!
Does anybody else want to share some  "remember whens?"

I'm still wondering at the insanity of picking my son up from the floor when he was an infant and cocking my head sideways with a cig in my mouth so as "not to get smoke in the baby's face"!!   I'll never get over that one...

Mike- you just jogged my memory- I dont know about across the pond but here in England we had ashtrays between every two seats in the cinema! and a 'stubbing out' piece of metal attached to the back of every public bus seat (no ashtray) so you stubbed out, showering the passenger next to you in sparks and ash, and then threw the butt on the floor .....nice!!
My biggest irony was back in the 80's the time of Jane Fonda aerobics where we would all have a smoke before going into our no pain no gain class! and have another smoke on the way out!--- health conscious???yes sir!...........on second thoughts..............

i'm 50 now , but when i was young there were ashtrays at the end of every aisle in the grocery stores.people pushing their carts and just puffing away.

doctors offices with ashtrays all over the place and the doc himself walking around smoking.

glad those days are gone.

Stormy, this is so great.  I can relate to everything you said.  Tresa and Karren...Boy the travel, that was always a task.  We actually bought a seperate piece of small luggage for our cartons of cigs when we went on vacation.  We go to Florida every spring for a week and we would take like 6 or 7 cartons with us.  And telling your kids not to smoke while smoking!!  I know, what logic!  Anyway, thank goodness we have done away with this, no matter how some days may get.

Tresa- I can identify with the travel and smoking- my husband and I visit the USA quite alot and sometimes we would stay for 3 weeks and we used to buy cartons of 1000 smokes at duty free to last us the trip and then buy more on the aircraft on the return journey.
The 1000 carton cost £80.00 which is 160 USD approx and we thought this was a bargain! Yes we were sick puppies too but hopefully we are getting better too.

I  also look back and just shake my head, like i cant even relate to that Tresa, It does embarasse me when i talk about it to other people,i was a true smoker, i use to travel out of the states alot and i could get more  packs of smokes in my suitcase than i could believe someimes  2 cartons at a time sometimes more, depending on how long i would be gone, i might leave an outfit out but never my smokes, i was a sick puppy  any way all better now :) Tresa
