It seems that as similar as the SSRI drugs are (Zoloft, Prozac, Paxil, Celexa etc), they each affect people totally differently. More so, It seems as people's body chemistry changes due to age, diet, and other factors, these meds may no longer work as they did once before which - from personal experience- is very frustrating.
When I was 21 or so, I could tolerate Zoloft, but now at 27 I was on it for a few months and it not only aggravated my panic and agoraphobia, it made me anxious, agitated, nauseaus and gave me the worst night sweats! Like Cookie and so many others have said, "Everybody is different".
I'm back on Prozac and it seems to be slowly bringing me back to where I was prior to the Zoloft fiasco (I went off of it in Sept 04 when I had a massive PA thinking it was no longer working; noone had ever told me about setbacks and relapses).
Is it ok to post links to articles? I have some good info from reputable sources if that's ok in this forum....
