The smell of a cig while someone is smoking

Well, today I feel I did make the right decision to quit and I am so glad I did turn around and go home instead of "buming" a smoke from my neighbor.  I was out with a group of friends and 1 person smokes and she was the most uncomfortable looking person the entire time.  She squirmed (she is a major closet smoker with church people) and I just chuckled and thought, I used to be that person.  You could tell tehy wanted to leave and smoke.  Not a truely happy person.  Me though...I have nothing to hide anymore (i was a closet smoker at work) and I am happier.

So if any newbies want to take a puff because they "miss" it.  Stop and think... are you really going to miss it?  Can you live with smelling like a stale ashtray?  Yeah, also, this person uses wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much perfume to try to cover up smoke. Non smokers can tell more because you are trying to hide it.  I'm free from that crud!!!  Are you really willing to pay russian roulette with each cig you smoke?  Well, that's what you are doing if you go back to smoking.
Hugs everyone, and I'm going to hop on the weekend train to Nova Scotia.  I've been there for work and holy cow I would move there in a heartbeat but cant :-)

Kasi, way to stay strong.  It is hard to be around smokers.  I know I still go back and forth on that one.  It will smell good, and then after awhile I start to feel sick.  I think it is more of the act of watching somebody go through the motions of smoking that get to me, they "LOOK" relaxed and carefree, but you know deep down inside they are really unhappy.  Good for you for confronting the situation, it will make it that much easier next time.

Kasi, well done hon- that was a tough trial and you made it through. I think it was before you joined I had a similar situation with a very close friend of mine who had been away at University and didn't know I'd quit.
Kasi, like you the first whiff of her newly lit cigarette was, I have to say, pleasant. But as that old cig burnt down it became obnoxious, and all I kept thinking was 'ugh the smoke she's exhaling has been inside her lungs' thats gross!!!!!!
So well done, keep looking at those terrific stats and stay strong.

Look at your stats, you must feel sooo proud , I stayed away from smokers for at least a couple of months, otherwise I would have to battle the craves and triggers. It is true, smokers unconsciously want you to keep smoking, I know I dit when I smoked,,, my girlfriend had told me she was going to quit , I panicked (inside) didn't let her know it.  Now I'm smoke-free and she's still puffing away.  Try to avoid situations such as these, so not to be tempted, at the beginning of the quit, you will get stronger as the weeks go by and it won't bother you anymore, on the contrary you will not appreciate the smell at all.

You're doing it

You've made it through the toughest test, Kasi.  Well done.. Now you're a stronger non-smoker than before.... Don't be shy to tell Mrs Neighbour to blow her stupid smoke in another direction rather than into your face... basic manners...

Kasi,

Of course you are going to like the smell of a smoke, many of us did and that is one of the reasons we smoked and the other is of course our addiction to it.  Once you lose the addiction and the reliance, crutch or whatever its name is for you,  you won't care for the breathing other's exhaled smoked.  Give yourself a few weeks, in the mean time stay away from those smokers.  I don't want to see you get dragged back into this.  It is your time to quit and to have the freedom!

Ps: You have all the makings of a quitter Kasi and I do believe in you.
