Hello new and need a little help

Robash,

I quit cold turkey as well. So did my wife. I smoked for 35 years, and my wife did for 30 years. I figure if we can do it, anyone can!

Hang in there and stay close to a computer. Post often, and take it fifteen minutes, an hour, and a day at a time. Whenever you attain a milestone, be sure to reward yourself.

You're doing great!

Breanne,

I am hanging in there.  It is a little strange, I am not sure that I really was craving cigarettes today.  I think I just trained my mind that oh no one is around must be time to smoke.  It is difficult at times because my husband smokes so there are always cigarettes available to me.  He keeps them with him and doesn't leave them laying around.  He only smokes in his man room, so that helps.  I am totally ok with not smoking unless I see his pack laying around unattended.  Kind of wierd I am 38 years old and I feel like a little kid sometimes.  But so far so good.  I am glad I found a place to come for support and advice.  Thanks

Danielle,

Yes I am going cold turkey again.  Never tried any meds to quit smoking.  I have had bad reactions to medications for other things in the past and I just don't want to go there.

Well I am going to go for it again.  I read all of the information here.  I just need to pick myself up off of the ground and stay strong.  I am miserable hiding the fact that I felland started smoking behind everyones back, when they think I already quit.  I want to be smoke free and honest about it.  So I completed all of the exercises here and set my quit date for today.  I haven't smoked for several hours so I figured no time like the present. So here I go again.

Hi Robash... there are the answers for you from the moderator and members... just pick a day, set up your Quit meter and prepare very well for the day that you will start your new life as a non-smoker... Read the programme and read through the forums for motivation - daily and even hourly reality checks!!

Welcome to you and may we see a lot more posting from you as you commence your journey to health....

Hi Robash, and welcome do use this site for support, its a great palce to be. I always say its easy to quit smoking, but not easy to stay quit, you just have to power through it if you are gonna be free of cigaretts, it can be better for some than others it was not easy for me, takes work, strong will and determination to stay quit. you can do this , so get the support you need and SAY NO stay strong, Hang tough :) Tresa
