Welcome Robash!

Nostalgic rush of adolescence?  :)

Kidding aside, we strongly recommend you work through the exercises in the program, set a date and work towards that. Having a set date in place and putting forth the effort towards it helps make & keep you committed as opposed to telling yourself; " Ok, I'm not going to smoke anymore." "I'm quitting tomorrow."

Get a plan together, you can do this!

Welcome and Hello Robash
What helped me in the begining was not looking at this as a lifetime change that just seemed to unattainable to me I had read someones post to just take it one day at a time, get up each morning and just make a promise that no matter what You will not smoke for today! Ice water and gum were my very best friends, I still drink lots of ice water but just noticed the other day that I don't chew gum very often at all anymore. Hang in there and have FAITH in yourself that you can do this it is Possible!

Good Morning robash and welcome!!

Firstly, the fact that you are here at this site suggests to me that you want to be rid of this ghastly addiction once and for all. Where you are right now is where many of us have been, including me! The unrelenting back and forth between I want to quit and I want to smoke!! You can't have both - it's not an option!!

Eventually, you have to make a decision and I hope that decision is that you want to quit. If it is, then you MUST stick with it despite the heartache and pain that you will endure in the early days. It gets easier believe me and the use of this site with all it's help and advice will ease even the early days.

No sugar-coating, it's tough early but it can become remarkably easy in no time at all if you have the self-will, courage and deternination to be a winner!

DO IT!!!
Good Luck

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

15 years ago 0 7 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi,
I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know that I am struggling.  I quit smoking for about 3 weeks in May.  I went cold turkey and actually was doing quite well.  I have taken a major fall I let stress get the best of me.  I am not back up to my pack a day, but I am smoking 3 to 4 cigarettes a day and I do it secretly my friends and family believe I am still smoke free.  I am not happy with myself and I really want to get back on track to becoming a smoke free person.  I tell myself daily that I will not smoke it was not that hard the first time, but I think I have developed this sneaking around to have a cigarette and am having a hard time controlling myself.  It almost feels good to be bad, if that makes any sense.  How do I get back on track after I keep lying to myself and others.  I need help!
