Scared of vomiting and gastroenteritis!!!

Miss_Z There is no way we can get rid of the stomach problems associated with panic/anxiety/phobias. The best thing we can do is keep working to understand out feelings as just "feelings", Like Sky said "Telling myself my fears are irrational" Positive self talk helps. But really knowing and accepting that these are just feelings and we should not fear them as they are irrational. Easy to say I know but we taught ourselves to fear these feelings now we have to teach ourselves that what we fear is not real.

Hi there Miss Z I had a huge fear of vomiting too for a long while. What do we do? I don't really know, but here's a few things that helped me. Remembering there are heaps of others in the world who feel the same fear. Keeping in mind that I've vomited before and never came to grief. Telling myself my fears are irrational. Recognising that if I wasn't fearing this, it would be something else. That a subject matter is pretty much irrelevant, or it becomes that way. As things start for one reason and continue for another. Hang in there Miss, I reckon I know how you feel. Once you take away the fear you attach to any physical sensation, this is when you begin to realise things are, in reality quite normal. One thing I've learned through the whole fear of vomiting and gastro thing, is that 'reality' is a really nice place to be and panic is not reality. take care
