Judy, I hear you as well. I'll be 50 this year and haven't had a period in two months. Hot flashes? I live with the fan on me. I've been on the patch and have noticed that as the strength decreases, I seem to go longer without a period. Tomorrow is my last day with any patch at all. Meg - I love the hot flashes being referred to as "power surges." "Tropical moments" is another term I hear quite often. Ahhh, the joys of being a woman. Period??? What's that? Ha ha I haven't had one of those for a very long time. I've been in full blown menapause for a while and really haven't noticed much difference but I am taking something for the hot flashes and night sweats. Hi Judi--I am sure I am also in peri-menopause; but after quitting, I didn't have a period for 6 weeks... So--I'm thinking that it may have an impact on that area too... I'm learning there are not many area's it doesn't impact... Hi Judy, I hear you loud and clear. I haven't had it confirmed yet by my doctor, but I think I am in full blown menopause!!! Had some minor menopause symptoms when I was smoking, but now am getting full blown hot flashes, night sweats, you name it!! The joys of breathing easy!!! Judy, Undoubtedly, smoking often times throws many hormones off balance. So much so that it has been indicated that smoking women are more likely to develop menopause earlier than that of their non-smoking counterparts. Other factors such as stress, dietary changes and level of physical activity can also impact your menstrual cycle. Regardless, it is not a common withdrawal symptom and our recommendation to you would be to see your doctor for further physical assessment. Good luck!
