YaaaaaaaaaaaaaHooooooooooooo! So wonderful to have the first 2 weeks behind you! I know you are going to do this with style! Hugs, Denise PS: Goofy, is your wife still having a tougher time than you or has it become easier for her, too? Sorry I didn't congratulate you sooner!! Two weeks is really big! Hell week and heck week are over, and you must be relieved! My wife and I are almost at six months, and we both still think about smoking. The feeling doesn't last as long, but it still come on at weird times. Hang tough, you are doing it!!! goofy My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 170 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,800 Amount Saved: $1,071.00 Life Gained: Days: 30 Hrs: 14 Mins: 42 Seconds: 11

thanks everyone! i think the best part about quitting is simply the fact that i can breathe so much easier! i'm still coughing up lots of junk in the morning though... TWO WEEKS SMOKE FREE!!! WOW! You are doing great! As far as your questions go - it is different with everyone. I find that cigarettes smell bad now. Earlier in my quit i only found that stale cigarette smoke(off peoples clothes etc.) stunk and cigarettes that were being smoked smelled good. So things changed for me, as they will for you. Just stay strong when the smoking still smells good, it's not worth starting over again, and there is no such thing as "just one". You are doing so good already, don't give in to one of those soon to be "stinky things"! Great work, HK. Two smoke free weeks is fabulous. Remember every quit is different than the next, but I think in general it gets a little bit better every day. Be good to yourself and never look too far ahead. One day a time. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! HK, Congratulations and a big high five for you for 2 weeks! That's awesome! Every moment that you defeat makes the battle easier. I could not put it more simply. After 6 months to a year, maybe years, you will have occasional thoughts that are easily dismissed. This is only my story, however, so far. Keep a positive attitude and you will do fine! Hello and congrats on 2 weeks smoke free, that is awesome!!! I think everyone is different... I know for me there are still days that I think about a cig... not every day and not really a crave... just passing thoughts. It takes time to retrain your brain... just hang in there and take it one day at a time. Just be assured that it does get better the longer you go without smoking!
