Stepped down too early :(

Thanks so much ! I'm SO glad that I just went back up mg. wise as it's made a world of difference. Sure I still get major craves but with the patch it does take off some of the edge and thankfully too my 'blues' have subsided substantially. I'm just going along right now with what is and not even thinking about stepping down. I'm not looking too far into the future because so many wonderful things are happening right now in the here and now :) I can't even imagine where I'd be right this very second if it were not for all of you wonderful people ! Peace :p and love ! Peace so glad you made it past that awful feeling. The emotional aspect of this experience can be overwhelming at times. Just know that you are not alone and that many go through these rough patches. Don't be afraid to work with your doctor regarding the depression. The good news is that it may take some time but there is a light at the end. Take good care of yourself right now. Way to go!!!!!!!! Peace, You are doing great - you have already done the biggest step down from smoking to patches. Yes, do give yourself enough time. It really does not matter if you do 6 weeks or 7 weeks on Step 1 - the point is that you have to deal with life as a non-smoker - that's what you are learning right now. It does get easier as you go. I do remember my own panics as to when to step down - think I obsessed about it. ;) Just keep doing it! That's a great 42 days! Well done Peace! You won't regret sticking to the plan! Note that when you do step down you will have a few more cravings for a day or two, but when you know they are coming, its easier to plan ahead! Yes, keep your coping tools handy, because life happens! You are doing great! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 407 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,175 Amount Saved: $4,293.85 Life Gained: Days: 53 Hrs: 11 Mins: 8 Seconds: 36

That's exactly what I did yesterday BJ.. I took a few power naps, rested by watching a few movies, and pretty much everything came together for me nicely :) This morning was the best morning I've had in a long long time ! Plus the weather is so beautiful.. crisp in the shade but warm in the sun :) :) Went for a walk, did some deep breathing. I am so glad that I did NOT go running to the store just a few short days ago. I would have regretted that so much and I'd be kicking myself from here to there. I know that IF I did buy a pack it wouldn't stop at 1 or 10 it would have been the whole pack gone in a day. Well if anyone out there thinks of having "JUST ONE".. Please PLEASE don't ! Reassess your thinking, your coping tools, come here and post "HELP!".. do ANYTHING.. just don't smoke ! Once again thanks to everyone for your kind words ! ((((((((((((hugs))))))))) and Peace :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 41 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 820 Amount Saved: $369.00 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 17 Mins: 19 Seconds: 57

Hey Buddy! A HUGE congratulations for getting through the 40 day mark!!! I'm really proud of you!!!! Just got back into town and caught up on your posts. Hope you're doing better!!! I'm so happy and proud that you bypassed the ciggie counter and stayed with the patch! (I was beginning to think that my competition was starting to weaken! :p ) You just take as long as you need on the patch as long as they help you keep up the great battle with that life-stealing nico-demon!!! Soon, his hold on you will weaken even more and you WILL eventually defeat him without the need of the patch!!! It's a long hard battle, and the toughest one you will probably ever face!!! Do what you have to do to win the battle!!! We'll do our part and do what ever we can to assist you!!! So, hang in there and I'll check back with ya soon!!! Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hey Peace...glad you got more patches and are staying in safe and sound!! Sometimes I'd rather look at the number of cigarettes not smoked than the number of days that I have been smoke free because cigarettes not smoked is the bigger number...lol!!! Anyway, I'm glad you're hanging in there. Take care!!!
