good story....nothing better than being faced with it and turning away...it's easy to say "i won't smoke" when we aren't staring at the cigarettes....i have an unopened pack on my table that i look at every day - it reminds me how strong i am...the world is filled with smokers - everywhere we look..we cannot stop them and we can't hide and we can't preach....we can only know that we are stronger than we ever thought we were and we can say no and mean it! very proud of you...you rock! Loved that story, fighter You're right. Many of us have had that one final test. Right in front of us. What are we going to do? Be a Smoker or be a Winner? I'm so glad you decided to be a winner. Congratulations! I had my first beers last night since my quit. I had a rough day, and my cravings scale was at an 8 before the beers. Once I had the beers my cravings grew dramatically stronger. As we were walking out of the no smoking bar what was right in front of me? I stopped to see a full flavored newport unsmoked/untouched right in front of me (my first brand of smokes). I couldn't believe it! I said this is my sign! For all of you out there who are saying "oh no", be proud-I picked it up only to think to myself Not One Puff Ever, and to throw it away in the garbage. And guess what? I couldn't feel better. The craving went away and I woke up this morning proud that I did not cave into the crave. I've noticed that several of us have these stories sometime or another into our quit. It's almost like the final test: Are you really ready to continue on this non smoking journey?
