So sorry to hear that. I have bought 2 new pairs of pants since just 2 weeks before i quit and now they don't fit. I know that feeling, wearing something tight enough that makes you feel like you weight 500lbs. It sends me to tears. I am watching what i eat and working out but have not lost one pound. I am not doing my best by watching what i eat, but i am as far as working out goes, and still NOTHING. I know that nothing i say will make you feel better, but maybe knowing, right here, right now, at this very minute there is someone else who feels exactly like you do. Take care My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/7/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 87 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,566 Amount Saved: $610.74 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 21 Mins: 25 Seconds: 5

I'll tell ya that the nicodemon does no such thing to me. I do feel fat and ugly but I know that smoking a cigarette is not the answer. I was late to work this morning because I was standing in front of the mirror trying to find something that fits right and I ended up with a pair of really tight jeans on that are very uncomfortable and I'm on the verge of tears today. I so hate this. I have fought this from the very beginning and I know there is nothing I can do but keep working out and eating healthy and buy new clothes. I feel awful today. Hey Terry I know exactly how you feel about the weight gain. I have gained 5lbs and find myself much hungrier than i was when i smoked. I hate it. I have had eating disorders in the past and still am currently not 100% cured of them (if you ever can be), so gaining weight is like a sin to me. And yet, i still haven't picked up a cigarette. Sometimes the thought flashes thru my mind but i don't act on it. I guess, i just wanted to let you knkow that you aren't alone with this feeling and losing weight is A LOT easier than quitting smoking again. So, take care of yourself and stay strong - you are so worth it. Terry, Listen to Brenna on this one! You are still a noob at this quitting thing. You are gonna tack on a few pounds during the quitting process. The Nicodemon is going to whisper in your ear that you are fat and ugly and the only thing in the world that can make you beautiful again is a ................. NOPE My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/17/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 230 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,520 Amount Saved: $966.00 Life Gained: Days: 42 Hrs: 3 Mins: 58 Seconds: 54

Terry, Don't worry about the weight right now. It is secondary to your quit and your doing so well building your confidence and being successful in your quit that you will soon be able to focus this energy towards weight loss. Continue to eat healthy and go to the gym regularly. Your metabolism will start to speed up as your body continues to adjust to the changes associated to quitting. There is a lot of great info and tips on our sister site the HealthyWeightCenter.net. Feel free to post any nutrition or fitness related questions in the forums there. I have never noticed the skin color. Hmmm I'll have to pay attention to that. Last time I weighed was yesterday at the gym. I understand I may have to get some new clothes, but I'm a fighter until I finally decide it's really not doing me any good. LOL I have to get some new things anyways because my age is outgrowing some of my short shorts. I can relate to the smoke grey skin. After I hAD been quit for a few months, my daughter came in town from NYC...she FLIPPED OUT! MOM, your cheeks are pink, I can't believe it! She went on and on and on about how much better my skin looked. Now, i do notice people with that yellow/grey smoking skin. It gets every part of our bodies, doesn';t it? Hurray for freedom. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 312 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,488 Amount Saved: $1,560.00 Life Gained: Days: 43 Hrs: 12 Mins: 42 Seconds: 42

Terry, just look at your meter. You have 45 days. I bet that extra 5 pounds is noticed by noone but you. Use summer clothes as a reward. buy something each week. Your looking good girl. I have gained and some of my clothes are to small, my skin color makes all the difference. Now I'm actually skin pink instead of smoke grey. It's funny I didn't notice the smoke grey until after I had been quit a few months. Now I can tell it on smokers easily. When was the last time you weighted? when was the last time you coughed? Keep it real. BJ I'm jealous you haven't gained any weight yet. I thought that would be me, but Noooooooooooooooo........ LOL I am not upset enough about this weight gain to pick up a cigarrette to solve it so I will deal with it best I can. It's not like I'm huge or anything even close.
