Bear, CONGRATULATIONS See, even an old bear can learn new tricks. Hot tubs, speedos, jobs, Frips, pies, harems.......seems the sky's the limit when you stop smoking.
The challenge of lighting up just one
Now bear, any addict can light up just one. I could light up just one. And maybe another one. And what the heck, another one. And ok, ya I can have another one...and on into infinity...that would just make me a smoking addict. You and I and the rest of the people here have chosen not to smoke. NOPE......this is the simple challenge for us my friend. N.ot O.ne P.uff E.ver So c'mon, climb on board the cruise ship Bear! We've got one he!! of a good party happening on the beach and we're saving a spot for you. :eg: Oh ya and wear your speedo please :eg: Everybody on the beach looks great in their speedo's, their bikini's and boas :) Pat My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 102 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,097 Amount Saved: $1428 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 22 Mins: 53 Seconds: 45

The truth Nance is I probable would have never have stuck it out if it had,nt of been for this site and people like you and all the other people who I have had the good fortune to meet here. It,s been a gas and I enjoy evey minute of it. I wear a very big hat now stand back when I get to 100 days. If sombody would have told me 50 days ago I would have been influenced by a web site and the people on it I would have said " getouta here" But then life is full of surprises is,nt it. :p The other side of the coin is that my faith in people has also been restored coming here, there are so many problems in this old world this has been a haven were I can come and have a few laughs and even help somebody along the road to becoming smoke free. ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 50 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 907 Amount Saved: $500 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 21 Mins: 57 Seconds: 3

Bear, you son of a gun! Look at you with 50 big 'uns! You are half way to the beach and a lifetime of better health! I am so proud of you. I have really enjoyed watching your journey, seeing you admit your slips, and then seeing you reaching out to help others. You have come a very long way from the angry old man who didn't really want to quit to begin with. You now have a landlady bringing you pies, a rosebush with a name, a harem of women you have never met but who care deeply about you, a lighted keyboard, a job that you appear to really like, a little jingle in your pocket, and many friends who are always there to help you. All because you quit smoking! Who could have guessed? And we talk about the benefits of quitting... and your typing is getting much faster!! I can see you walking tall, a smile on your face and your chest stuck way out there..and with a swagger in your step with that jingle in your pocket! You are truly "Da Man" and everyone knows it! Look out world, here comes the BEAR! Geez, what will you be like 50 days from now? I, for one, can't wait to find out! Love ya! This is a very significant day for this old Bear. Not only is it day 50 for me not smoking but its also the day I fell flat on my face the last time I decided to quit. In my wisdom ??? the last time I decided to quit I celebrated by deciding I could be a casual smoker you know the kind the ones that can enjoy a nice cigar on special occasions so I went out and bought myself a nice big old fatboy. Bad decision. But you know what those thoughts have entered my mind again today. The challenge of lighting up just one and sitting back and enjoying that pleasant sensation of smoking a realy fine cigar just stagers the imagination!! ;p Come on be honest I betcha I almost caught somebody. What a wicked old man :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 50 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 905 Amount Saved: $500 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 21 Mins: 21 Seconds: 22

Hi Bear, Hi Changing, You two make me laugh.... My daughter walked in the living room and asked me what I was laughing at and I couldn't explain it was about Bear and me in a hot tub with Bear wearing a speedo. Just too funny ;) Changing, like you said I didn't intend on Bear to wear a speedo. As we say here in NY clothing optional LOL.Besides I know I gained some weight during this quit which I am working on. I hope to get rid of it before my milestone gets to the beach. Things have calmed down a bit for me, boyfriend finally moved out but daughter is giving me more gray hairs everyday. At 42 years old I'll look 90 by the time she reaches 18 years of age. She certainly has put my quit to the test and I've held strong, she on the other hand is starting to lose the battle. Well Bear it'll 50 days for you when you read this and I'm waiting for you. You have quite a remarkable strength that I wonder if you see it in yourself yet. You have struggled through yet battled this addiction with a sense of humor and a sincere concern for others during their quit. I will raise my glass to you and a toast for you Bear on celebrating your 50 days. CONGRATULATIONS!! Welcome aboard!!
