Hi there Bobbi and Phil. Feels like the old days. Sorry you sound kind of sad Bobbi. Things just change don't they. It's what happens in such a group as this but you are right: at least we were all around when we needed each other. Nearly your year celebration so get ready to party! Hmmmmmmm... Got 10 mins its snowing outside so here is a brain dump! Are we.... Ex smokers or Non Smokers? When does an ex smoker become a non smoker? After all these months (about 19) there are still times when I could weaken.(I won't) What I can say is that I am not the happy go lucky person I use to be when I smoked and I have a much shorter fuse!!!! My concentration is not as good as it used to be that's for sure, remember having a cig when you needed to think? Maybe that is what all non smokers are like? I have put on weight and I have to get that sorted soon and will. I can genuinely notice how little money I spend day to day. An added bonus is that bars hold no attraction for me now... I dont smell any more, smokers stink! The dreams have gone away... Any other thoughts we can add to these ramblings? Do they ring bells with you? me xxx My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 593 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 13,046 Amount Saved: 3,113.25 Life Gained: Days: 119 Hrs: 12 Mins: 32 Seconds: 49

Thank you Aloha, got my parent's moved, quit a job! Don't come here much as I don't feel like I fit in any more, so many have quit responding to me try to join in but get no feed back, I sure used to, at times feels like there is a certian group that hang out, didn't that at all in the beginning but do alot now. I have made a few friends here though that we email away from here, they are very dear friends, I have been blessed with them. I am here often but just reading most of the time. does make me sad at times but at least had so many when I needed them most, when I first quit. I know newbies need alot of help, but sometimes oldies also do. You were so kind to respond. How is it going with you? I do have a email if want it I am also on facebook. hugs, prayers, pixie dust, Bobbi My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/27/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 361 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,830 Amount Saved: $902.50 Life Gained: Days: 51 Hrs: 17 Mins: 47 Seconds: 59

Yes Josie you are so right! that it lasts much longer then I ever thought, at imes I feel it gets worse the longer I haven't smoked, but other times it is better, I do beleive that the longer you have smoked, 50 years for me, the harder it is to re-adjust. I am still trying to figure out who I am, it is so confusing as I never! want to smoke again but still have a hard time again with trying to figure put who I am, and at times I really don't like myself very much, the cig craving isn't a big problem at all just don't really like who I have become, if I don't feel better soon will go to dr. and see what he has to say, just want to be happy and carefree like I was when I smoked, can't seem to do that and been almost a year. People who are out there, please quit before you have very many years behind you! If only we could have been smarter when we were younger to never start! see so many young people who are just starting to smoke and makes me sick! but like me no one listens. every time I see a new member here I do get such a happy feeling! to all newbies keep up the great work, you can do it!!!!!! Lot's of pixie dust to you all, soak in the magic dust! hugs, prayers, pixie dust, Bobbi My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/27/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 359 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,770 Amount Saved: $897.50 Life Gained: Days: 51 Hrs: 10 Mins: 55 Seconds: 36

I don't think that I realized how much quitting smoking would impact my life. There are some activities that I don't enjoy as much and probably never will (i.e. drinking with smokers, loud bars, etc) but there are a ton of activities that I enjoy so much more (going away with friends, family, visiting at neighbours, running, swimming, shopping, etc etc because I WILL NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT SMOKING AGAIN!! WOOHOOOO!) I had to learn new ways to cope (more exercise and more sleep) and I developed new friendships (I love spending time with my gym friends now and my SCC friends saved my life!) I also learned how to cope in a whole new way (one day at a time!) Now I do that with other areas of my life. If the day is really rotten, I go to bed early and start over fresh the next day. (I think that maybe I am a whole lot stronger than I thought that I was) It's not quick and easy but I do believe that it is worth it.
