Thank you Josie. My heart goes out to my friend who is burying his wife in a couple of days, but you are right,
If this helps someone along the way, then the path is not lost.
I just hope that young ones learn from our mistakes and don't follow in the same footsteps. THANK YOU BUTTERFLY SWIMMER!! THAT IS SUCH A WONDERFUL IDEA!! I WILL BE SURE TO READ IT IN THE GENERAL FORUM. SOME JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THE SERIOUSNESS OF IT UNTIL IT HITS THEM IN THE FACE. HOPEFULLY YOUR COLLECTION OF STORIES WILL HELP THEM REALIZE IT. I ADMIT IT, I WAS AS BLIND AS THE NEXT PERSON WITH IT. I HAD THE WHOLE "IT WON'T HAPPEN TO ME" ATTITUDE. NOW, I KNOW IT CAN AND WILL IF I DON'T STAY QUIT!! THEREFORE, I QUIT! THANK YOU!! Because of your post, I decided to put together a post of all of the lung cancer stories I've read here on this site... and I added this one to it as well. It's in the General Forum. Thank you for sharing this story. I hope that it helps others stay quit. Crave the Quit! Hi everyone. I am sorry that I haven't been around in awhile, but things have been kind of crazy here lately. Believe it or not, it revolves around the effects of smoking!! I work in a fairly small company and we are all very close, like family. There is a guy that works with me named Jimmy. His wife Kathy has been suffering from lung cancer for the past 5 years. The lung cancer was caused by smoking. The cancer spread from her lungs to her brain. Yesterday she was put in Hospice for her final days. SHE IS JUST 40 YEARS OLD! If I ever needed any inspiration to stop smoking, this is it! After seeing not only what Kathy is going through, but to see what her husband is going through watching her slip away from him, I QUIT! I never want my family to go through that. All of you that are fighting the cravings like I am, and trying to hold on, but finding no reason to hold on, please remember my friend Jimmy and his wife Kathy. SMOKING KILLS!! You never realize how much that is true until you are on the front lines of it, a very painful reality check! STAY STRONG AND NEVER GIVE IN TO NICODEMON!!
