I just love you guys! (((HUGS))) Thank you all for the support. I am feeling much better now. I am still steamed at the moron MD and I wont be going back to him but, I don't feel like I am crazy any more. My husband is just short of filing a malpractice suite. I guess if I had caved and smoked, we might have a leg to stand on. :| I may be vain but I'm not so vain that I would go back to smoking again! thanks again you guys! XXOO G :) BTW, Patrick ummmm I'm 139 not 140 if you want to be precise  and that's the stupid Dr's scale too!! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 235 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,050 Amount Saved: $1,128.00 Life Gained: Days: 24 Hrs: 5 Mins: 30 Seconds: 37

Sorry! Let me rephrase that - "You're 5'6.5"....". Sure I'm only an inch and a half over you and I weigh 1.5 of you. My hips knees and ankles can attest to that... but I know what I have to do but I must first get my lettuce taste buds out of the cleaners and get Lasix surgery and listen to 24 hours of Goto Tibetan Monks chanting and .....stuff... Patrick P.S.: I'd like to take Josie home with me for moral support but my wife says to shut up ... Hi, Grin, This doctor sounds a lot like the med school product that Denise is talking about. Definitely get yourself another doc. At 6'5" you're perfect at 140lbs. You're even more perfect than that noodle is capable of appreciating because you're a woman in fine shape and you don't smoke. Oh golly, I laughed too, when I read your post! Sounds sooo much like some doctors I've worked with! They so need a life! My theory is that they went to college right out of High School, didn't socialize with anyone cuz they were studying and then they went to pre med, (no social life) then internship (no social life), then residency (definitely no social life), and pretty soon you have a really smart person who's now in their late 20s or early 30s, with NO social skills whatsoever! So we pity him, and CHEER you! YaaaaaaaaaaHooooooooooo! Go get another doctor, but pat yourself on the back, first. I'm 5'6 and I weigh 170 lbs, so don't even go there with 8 lbs! LOL Congratulations on a wonderful quit! Sounds like a Dr my husband went to ( no longer does).... all he was fixated on was weight and working out. ( Maybe he has an eating disorder) My husband is 6ft and large boned (wears a size 13 ring) this Dr wanted him around 160.......... I used smoking as excudse for weight control also. I put about 25 or 30lbs. on after stroke, as walking for exercise wasn't an option for awhile. I have lost close to 15lbs. I told myself ok.. when you lose between 10 and 15 lbs you will quit smoking. ( I have 30 days today.). To try to help so I dont't gain a bunch of weight back.. I have been chewing on "jerky" 99% fat free.. drinking loads of water.. only one soda a day. I have switched from a dinner plate to the sandwich plate size. for snacks I use the small dessert bowl. I sm not at my ideal weight. I used to wear a 6 or 8 ( i am a 10 now) I am 5' 1" and I weigh 139.. I would definately be finding a new Dr. You can ask for a short "interview" appointment to meet them, or ask your friends for some refrences. We love you and are jumping up and down with YOUR QUIT My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/10/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 30 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 510 Amount Saved: $102.00 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 9 Mins: 52 Seconds: 45

Grin, Unfortunately a medical education does not mean a person has the other attributes necessary to be a good health professional; compassion, integrity, honesty, supportiveness, etc etc etc. I'm voting for you finding a doctor who has some of those attributes and knows how to encourage, not discourage, his/her patients. And another thing..... ATTA GIRL!!!! YOU QUIT SMOKING!!!! Grin, LOL, great advice from Kristilu, tell him to kiss your ash. I know exactly what you mean, some days it makes you wonder if they graduated from a school of fish! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 372 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,300 Amount Saved: $3,924.60 Life Gained: Days: 48 Hrs: 21 Mins: 11 Seconds: 23
