What a wonderful idea.
Although bad things may be happening your idea brings to mind a hanging at home when I was a kid.
"Get on your knees to thank God you're on your feet"
1. I am thankful to have gotten this far, and to continue to live a very interesting life.
2. I am thankful that I have gotten this far, and still have the possibility to go further.
3. I am thankful to have gotten this far, having met, befriended and loved so many wonderful people, some who continue to peoply my life, while others have gone on, leaving behind some wonderful memories.
4. I am thankful that I have the ability, power and resources to change my life for the better if I so decide, and that nobody or nothing can take this away from me.
5. The simple act of recognising that my life is and has been good, despite present or past difficulties, gives me the courage and energy to go forward and meet whatever life is willing to throw at me.
Lastly thank you Misty for this suggestion which has allowed me to take stock of things as they really are and not as I was seeing them. I have many positive things in my life. Despite many trials and tribulations in the past and some in the present, I am lucky to have what I have, know what I know and quite possibly the courage, based on experience, to know that this too will pass.
If I say I can, I can. If I say I can't, I can't, I'm always right.
