I am grateful for my life as a non-smoker. My world is a different place and I'm so glad I stepped into the unknown and hung on tight. The roller coaster ride and the hell I went through in the beginning was well worth the trip. What a great thread... (I now know what that means:)....& I'm grateful Here is my gratitude list: I am grateful for my fiance who is kind and sweet & supportive (and a non-smoker) My children, their accomplishments and disappointments--(The disappointments bring us closer together) My dog who is so faithful--Buddy (my golden retriever) For the ability to work--and to have a job that I love For my mom & brothers and their families (all non-smokers) Right now--I am especially grateful to have found SSC. Like most smokers the thought to quit just seemed tooooo overwhelming and un-doable. Reading & re-reading over the last 3 weeks I have listened to SO many amazing stories along with non-smoking success. You have touched my soul & given me courage that I did not know I had. For this I thank You ALL Deb My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 270 Amount Saved: $60.75 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 2 Mins: 50 Seconds: 40

Deck - you're so sweet. :) Today i'm grateful that I don't feel as sick as I did yesterday! (Yikes - I was a sick puppy) -For having more work to do -For having a running vehicle -For little pieces of plastic that make it impossible for a 2 year old to open a door and run out into a street! (Because i'm too old and slow to do the 2 year old chasing like I did in my 20's! sheesh) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 602 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 45,150 Amount Saved: $11,287.50 Life Gained: Days: 53 Hrs: 18 Mins: 5 Seconds: 49

What a wonderful idea. Although bad things may be happening your idea brings to mind a hanging at home when I was a kid. "Get on your knees to thank God you're on your feet" 1. I am thankful to have gotten this far, and to continue to live a very interesting life. 2. I am thankful that I have gotten this far, and still have the possibility to go further. 3. I am thankful to have gotten this far, having met, befriended and loved so many wonderful people, some who continue to peoply my life, while others have gone on, leaving behind some wonderful memories. 4. I am thankful that I have the ability, power and resources to change my life for the better if I so decide, and that nobody or nothing can take this away from me. 5. The simple act of recognising that my life is and has been good, despite present or past difficulties, gives me the courage and energy to go forward and meet whatever life is willing to throw at me. Lastly thank you Misty for this suggestion which has allowed me to take stock of things as they really are and not as I was seeing them. I have many positive things in my life. Despite many trials and tribulations in the past and some in the present, I am lucky to have what I have, know what I know and quite possibly the courage, based on experience, to know that this too will pass. If I say I can, I can. If I say I can't, I can't, I'm always right.
