Well Moss, thanks for the insight. My husband has always been difficult to deal with, you know he is always right, so that makes it harder... :) Women are not easier, I will admit, but we just show our feelings about it. I just take it day by day until one day I will wake up and say...I am not thinking about smoking. I guess if I thought that, I would be, but you get my drift. Happy Day!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 76 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,280 Amount Saved: $285.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 5 Mins: 26 Seconds: 56

Hi there. I had to stop drinking 4 1/2 years ago and smoked even more then for my reward system. My 'boyfrend' (He's 64) also smoked so that was great. We just smoked all the time. The house stank, my car stank our clothes etc etc. Then I decided I didn't want to do it any more so I found this site and hey presto! I stopped. Amazing and wonderful. He took to smoking outide when he was round here but that only lasted a month or so and then he gave up. He just gave up. Didn't use anything. Doesn't want to talk about it. Isn't interested in this site or the people I've 'met' on it. Just doesn't want to talk about it because it makes him think about it. And he just hasn't smoked. Whatever works for you, male or female. Just don't smoke!! Hi A1......A little off subject but your post got me thinking. I think with a lot of guys we have been brought up not to discuss problems, feelings, insecurities, weaknesses, etc. We are supposed to handle everything with our head up and without any difficulty. That whole notion is Bull***t but we have been taught that nonetheless. That is no excuse to be a jerk to other human beings but when I see those qualities I always try to recognize where they may be coming from. Joining this support group was a HUGE step for me. I have never joined anything before but I have to admit that being able to vent, yell, encourage, and share this experience has taught me a lot about myself and human nature in general. Mostly that I am not made of stone and it is damaging to my soul to pretend that I am. Now Ladies....you just keep us in line and keep showing us how this is done..OK ;) Gratitude Moss My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/19/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 93 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,395 Amount Saved: $313.88 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 0 Mins: 22 Seconds: 15

Hi anx my husband is a non smoker.. has never smoked.. so his thinking with me being on chantix, that i could just have a puff.. so I kind of explained it to him. He is very supportive and has wanted me to quit for years.. He quit drinking 4 1/2 years ago.. Sorry he feels "jealous" of the site.. Yes we do have some great guys here.. Keep up the good work.. and we will definately hope the light bulb turns on upstairs for him. I know that feeling of needing something. And if I ponder on it long enougn, I associate it with a cig craving. I too, know what you are feeling. It does get better, it still happens, but instead of it being kinda scarry and really hard to fight, it becomes an irritaion, like what the heck? Is or was your husband a smoker? I hope your are getting the support you need. My husband is on week three of quitting and you should hear the junkie talk coming out of him, I find it humorous. He of course is to much of a man to join the site (he is quite jealous of it actually, like I am going to have some online affair or something), refuses to change any patterns, won't take vitamins or read self help books. He his quite challenging. Now he thinks he will become a cigar smoker, just puffing on them instead of inhaling. I am tired of trying to help him see what his mind is doing, so I told him to go ahead. He said he is only quitting for me anyway, so if he doesn't want to help himself, I guess I just need to take care of myself. He is trying to not be a, well, I really can't come up with anything, oh, maybe a jerk(not what I was thinking), but he flies off the handle at me and the kids at least five times a day..short lived but enough to P### me off. I know where its coming from, so I let it go. Men..they think they can conquer anything without help. I shouldn't really say that, we have some very inspriational men on this site and love talking to all of them. I am glad today is better for you..maybe there was something in those cherries!!! I try to smile and hope that my brain follows suit. Thanks for responding, I was feeling lonley out here today. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 75 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,250 Amount Saved: $281.25 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 3 Mins: 42 Seconds: 25

Hi Anx. Yesterday I kept craving "something" I went around the house tasting mny things. I made dinner, and we ate. I of course joyously announced my days to my husband. Told him I was having kind of a "tough" day. He decided to run up to the "little store" I said Oh find me something cherry flavored I want cherry. Apparently he was wandering around (this is a small store) and the lady said can I help you. He explained that I had quit smoking .. and I wanted something cherry... so she found a Big Mountain Bar .. it has cherry filling, a cherry in the middle and chocolate with chopped nuts on the outside. She said will this work, he said I hope so. She is on chantix.. I was going to tell her to just take a puff.. The lady said OMG NO not after this many days. I tore into the candy bar.... I was good though I only ate half..lol ( he bought me 2). Today is a better day My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/10/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 153 Amount Saved: $24.10 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 8 Mins: 57 Seconds: 5
