HOW DO YOU REIDENTIFY YOUR PERSONALITY

16 years ago 0 3875 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hey Bear, Our personalities are formed by the time we are three years old...so you had one alright, and I don't think you can lose it, it may change a little from time to time due to life experiences, this journey being one. But hang on to your socks, your old self will be back with bells on! A1, have you tried changing your morning routine around a bit??? Even just little changes help! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 340 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,500 Amount Saved: $3,587.00 Life Gained: Days: 44 Hrs: 15 Mins: 40 Seconds: 33

I like the nickname A1..the sauce that goes with everything to zest it up!! Last night I had a couple of hours of real peace. My daughter had a concert, it was a long one and normally this would be something that would drive me crazy. Trying to figure out if there would be an intermission to hide and have a smoke, even thoughts of ditching early. can you believe that? I sat through the whole concert completely oblivious to the fact that it didn't bother me at all and I felt really proud and calm. I almost started to cry and wanted to yell "Hey, I am just like you, I am a non smoker". But then, like always my mornings challenge me and it takes me almost a whole day to get rid of the cramping edgyness in my gut. It is getting better, its not as bad as it used to be. With nights like last night though, when you really feel it, it makes it all worth it. I also saw two co workers today going down for a cig by the elevators. They quit years ago. It gave me a panicked feeling, like, is that going to be me? I am trying to brush it off, it was just very unsettling. Thanks for the posts and please keep them coming. My husband is on day 4 or 5 of his quit, and he is mean and crabby. Another challenge put forth..at least this one I understand. :confuse: My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 64 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,920 Amount Saved: $240.00 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 5 Mins: 52 Seconds: 50

A1, The person you find has always been there. It's just that that person was masked behind the addiction. I think you will be pleased with yourself. And you should be very proud at how far you have come. You are doing a great job, keep up the quit! I think Bear is right on the money. I didn't even know who I was when I started smoking, maybe I am just finding out who I really am. Maybe I will try a little of the week Moss is smoking. (just kidding, I thought that was so funny). I hope I like the new self I find. :| My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 64 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,920 Amount Saved: $240.00 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 5 Mins: 50 Seconds: 14

If I may add to this post on personality I wonder whether I realy had one.A lot of us started smoking before we realy had formed a personality and I wonder now whether the act of smoking helped us ?? to form one.Now we strip it away by quitting smoking and we feel kind of naked.I know for me even at my age there has been a sense of adventure about it but I know for some it can be pretty intimadating .It's easy to say don't be afraid but in time you will find rather pleasant things about yourself that will make you feel very good about your. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 325 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,850 Amount Saved: $3,250.00 Life Gained: Days: 79 Hrs: 1 Mins: 49 Seconds: 46

Clarification for Rockstar - When I said Weed I meant cigarettes. That I am adjusting to living without cigs. Good for you on your decision. You know where to come for help and advice. Remember you are in the heart of this right now so keep your chin up and keep looking forward. Good Luck to you. Thanks to all who have shared! I struggle with this daily and each time I hear that it passes it gives me so much hope. I just remind myself that this is a MAJOR life change and of course it will take a MAJOR period of adjustment. (Actually it starting to feel more exciting and a little less scary!) Sooo grateful for this site. That's bang on Audrey! We do feel naked, and unsure of how to deal with the emotions, we have to learn how to feel them & let go. It's a learning process Anx, we learn as we go. Some days you think you're never going to get through it and don't know why you're here, but there is always the promise of a new day tomorrow! (Remember the song from Annie!) Somedays we're the statue, somedays we're the pigeon, and somedays we're just a fly watching it all go down. When I had days like that I went to bed as early as I could go because "tomorrow will be better", and 99% of the time, it was! Chin up girl! You've been a non smoker for over tow months now!!! How great is that? :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 339 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,475 Amount Saved: $3,576.45 Life Gained: Days: 44 Hrs: 13 Mins: 50 Seconds: 12
