You are having a normal reaction to kicking that nicotine out of your body, so take each day as easy as you can and don't worry so much about the emotions. You will have a lot of great days and some not so good days but remember that it is completely normal. Your body is going through a major change and you have to allow it the opportunity to start feeling better. Heck I still cry, throw a fit, freak out or get angry over the smallest things...and it's almost day 90! I've learned to appreciate those around me and myself and remind myself constantly that these emotions are normal and that one day they will pass. I would much rather be the stewardess from the quitting smoking commerical for 6 months then continue smoking for the next 50 years. There is no time like the present to kick this habit to the curb. I strongly believe your attitude will be a major contributor to your successful quit. Keep up the great work! Smokerella I'm on Day 3 (just), struggling to concentrate on things and being edgy. Is it time to start looking for one of those hobbies you've been searching for. A friend gave me a good tip. Imagine you are on an aeroplane and cant smoke. You dont usually feel like it because you can't. I'm still tryin it on to see if it works! Tuck yourself in early Smokerella! The tears are all normal too. It seems we are more emotional, now that we don't stifle them with smoke! The first three days are the worst, after that it gets better so hang in there! Just yell if you need us. Pamper you. You're in recovery! The discomfort, is all temporary, just keep that in mind! :) I know you will do it! NOPE! Well I am almost at the end of day 3...it started of really strong but I have to admit that there were some ruff spots today, I was increasingly frustrated with small issues and then started crying for no apparent reason. I cleaned my whole room, vacuumed and now I'm relaxing but I'm finding today the craving was higher than the past 2 days. I know I will make it through this and I will make it to tomorrow, it just amazes me that we put our body through so much with cigarettes that it really does take a toll when we stop feeding that addiction. I look forward to tomorrow, one step closer to freedom! Thank you to everyone for the encouragement, it really means a lot. I will talk to you all tomorrow. Have a great smokefree night!! Congrats! Glad to hear that you feel so amazing while on this journey...the best part is yet to come. Being positive in the very beginning makes it a much more enjoyable experience and helps to take the edge off and really start enjoying discovering your new smoke free self. I also was quite positive in the beginning only because it is astonishing when you can all of a sudden start living without smoking...and then realizing that it can be done and you can do it. It is very rewarding to beat an addiction or habit that has such a strong hold on you...it is empowering to quit! My life has improved 1000% and I believe that quitting has played a huge part in this. (I started exercising before the quit which also helped both with living a more positive and healthy life and making my quit that much easier) Quitting can be such a difficult thing to do and trust me everyone on this site has been there, but it is wonderful to hear positive feelings from someone else as it motivates them and continues to motivate you. Keep up the excellent work and attitude. Always keep your guard up no matter how good things are going and remember to be prepared when things aren't going so well. Gum, candies, water, etc all the wonderful advice and support from every single member. We are all here for each other and we can make this a positive life changing experience. I love being a non-smoker!!!!!!I'll be looking out for you. Keep the Quit!
