Terry:
Well, at the risk of sounding like a smart guy, I will tell you that you are correct..."This is not the day to TRY this"...This is the day to DO this...I know it feels daunting and the mountain appears to be steep, but if you push yourself over the first few hills, the view from the top will be magnificent.
The first day might be difficult, but one thing for sure is that if you participate fully in this day, there will be no more first days to conquer. Remember, we have been waltzing with this addiction for a long time and it is going to take a bit of effort to get that 3 step out of your head. Make no mistake, a great deal of the desire resides in our emotional and mental being. In some ways that bit of it can be more difficult than the actual physical addiction.
I will promise you this, however, that if you take that blind leap of faith and begin to embrace the thought that this is good for you and that with each passing day you will be a better, stronger Terry, you will suffer the travails of being an addict with a wonderful grace that will propel you up that mountain with the greatest of ease.
Ok now angry, sad ranting mad, it dosen't matter, soon you will meet yourself in all of those states and with each encounter you will learn that YOU CAN HANDLE THIS...I promise...
