I'm so proud of you. Your going to find that by doing that you will be stronger. Actaully your craves will subside as you take pride in yourself. Remember..... all the things in life you can still do. You don't have to give up ANYTHING... but smoke. That's all. Nothing is dependant on smoking. Nothing at all. In a couple of days you will be done with hell week. That's not to say you still won't be climbing the mountain....but as you climb you get stronger and stronger. Stay close to this site. You go girl!!!! You're seeing this in real time, folks! :)O When I hit enter after answering Mercy I got up, grab the pack out of the desk drawer (there were at least 20 in it) ran water over it and then crushed it in my palm. That was as hard an act as I've had to do all this week. But it's done and I can already feel some pressue easing. Ok Mercy. This is incredibly hard but I'm going to take those stale cigarellos right now and soak them in the sink and throw them out.... Kartemy, It's okay to vent. That's what we are here for. We know what it's like and are happy to help. If distractions helped you this afternoon find another :) To bed early if needed, tomorrow is a new day! Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

Kartemy, It's o.k. to vent.... infact it's needed.......so vent all you like. Everyday it will boil down to a choice. Somedays you just have to scream at yourself to chose the "right" thing (no smoking). As far as the stale stash in the drawer....hmmmmmm....WET THEM AND GET RID OF THEM. I know they are in your drawer....but they are also at the corner grocery....the pharmacy down the road....the service/gas sation around the corner and the convenient store. They will always be around somewhere. You will be free from this if you hang firm and be PROUD of your choice not to smoke. Cigarettes don't dissapear.....we banish them!! :) Your doing mighty fine for 5 days. I know...I'm proud of you. Thanks guys. The junkie and I are having a few go rounds today. Unfortunately, I desparately allergic to bananas and a lot of other fruit so I won't be using that as a stop gap but I did call my mother. :) Even at almost 45 years old, Mommy's the best one to go to for a boost in self confidence. Thanks for answering. Just being able to answer back takes up a few more minutes and gets me past another wave. Don't forget to drink lots of water. Eat a banana, they help with cravings. Do the same thing every time you crave to recondition your mind. Hey Kathy You're doing great. Maybe it's time to pamper yourself. Take a walk, then take a nice long shower or bath, watch a movie, read a book, order out for dinner, go to bed early. Read and post here. We've all been through it. Do NOT listen to the junkie!!!! It is getting despearte because it knows you mean business. You are getting through the worst of it. It will get better soon. Ok. This is my worst day so far. I knew early that it was a tough one but it's only got worse. I thought I had gotten rid of all tobacco in the house but now I remember that there are 4 year old cigarello's in the desk (opened package, no less) that as stale as they are, one drag would cure this headache and craving in my body. I knew early today it was going to be bad but fortunately, my mother-in-law called and needed help with her new laptop. It's got Vista installed on it and since I'm the computer expert/geek/nerd in the family, I got called in. That took a couple of hours so there was some time that my mind was occupied. Back home and things just started going down hill. I'll stop now. Sorry for the ramble, I seem to be using this forum as a diary but I do feel better once I've vented. **Please ignore the mad woman vibrating in the corner. :) Kathy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/14/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 100 Amount Saved: $38.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 13 Mins: 37 Seconds: 40
