LOL @ you guys! I was listening to a walking MP3 today when I walked and when it was almost the end, she said "If you thought you'd never make it this far... here you are!" Just look at us go! LOL Doodles! I used to think that smoking would be a great reward for not smoking! It's insane how our minds work. I didn't think my thoughts would ever change, but they have. I didn't think I would ever learn to live smoke free, but I have. I didn't think I could do it, but I did. Keep going. You are doing great! I love being around smokers. It's not a test for me at all; it's just fun knowing that I am under no threat whatsoever. Like it's stated here often, each quit is different and I guess some beat this addiction better than others. I'm happy, Penitent d1343 :)

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Doodles... one thing that has been at the forefront of my mind since the first day I quit is the fact that if I ever have just "ONE" puff, I will smoke for the rest of my life. We are all only one puff away from a pack a day no matter how long we have been quit. It just isn't worth it. The question that I always ask myself when the nic monster tries to get my attention.. DO I REALLY WANT TO BE A SMOKER AGAIN???? This seems to work so far..... Being around smokers is the hardest trigger so far... It is right there....... But, if I think a can handle one puff, I will come to this site first!!!!! Audrey, As many times as I have considered going back to smoking, I don't think I could actually do it. What a wast of life that would be. The freedom is awesome. Lady I have thought of smoking recently more times than I care to admit! Let us just continue to support each other. Always check in here if you think you can handle just one puff. Amazing the grasp it can have on you after so long being quit, and SCARY! Miss you! Thanks for sharing! Glad that you had a great day with the boys and the neighbors and good for you for keeping your resolve and seeing the nicodemon for what it is. The addiction will lurk and hit us when least expected, the object is to not pay it any attention :) Some hot chocolate and warm soup should wrap up the great day you are having :) Josie, Health Educator
