Hi Lady, What a trial to come up against such a gang of smoking neighbours and all those circumstances militating against you and letting in all those negative-value thoughts about smoking! But you were aware and tough and you left the scene because it was the right thing to do... well done. And a very big congratulations on the years and days that you've let your health improve and impoverished the Tobacco Companies even a little !! You're my favourite kind of anarchist! I know that your faith is strong, Lady, and you are blessed with it.. Hi Lady, Great story for everyone. We are all vulnerable at anytime in our quit and it helps to be reminded just how powerful this addiction is. .....so you stole our snow!! I'm in NC, and we were predicted to have about 3 inches. Only rain here!! I love snow! Hi Lady Know exactly what you mean about those triggers...fun and finished. They come and they go, and you did the right thing...recognize the thought, it's ridiculousness, tell yourself the truth, and then get the heck out of there. Anytime you want more fun in the snow...let me know. We have plenty and cold to go with it. Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hello everyone. I haven't been around much but feel compelled to come in here and share with all of you. The power of this horrible addiction never ceases to amaze me. I have been quit for a little over two and a half years. I live in GA and we don't get a lot of snow here. We had accumulation of a little over two inches yesterday and was out helping my boys make a snowman. My neighbors came out and we wound up all playing like children and having a huge snowball fight. It was so much fun. Both my neighbors and their spouces smoke. They were all commenting as we were running around that they needed to quit smoking because they were out of breath. Once we were finished we were all standing around and talking. Naturally the four of them all light up. After all, that is what you do whenever you complete a task and you are a smoker. I was actually tempted to ask for a cigarette. Can you believe that? It was like I was missing something even though I know darn good and well that I'm not missing a thing! I had to remind myself that I'm the lucky one because I'm no longer ruled by the addiction. I politely excused myself and came back into the house. I am grateful for the strength and knowledge to be able to resist the temtation of the power of this addiction. If you are struggling, keep taking one day at a time and you get to the point where resisting the addiction is second nature to you. It is worth the fight for freedom.
