hypnotherapy

I had success in the past and I would really like to try it again. I hope everyone will continue to share any results they may have had with hypnotherapy. It makes sense to me since most of my panic comes from crazy suggestions in my head. Why not put good suggestions in there instead of the fear and panic talk?

My uncle was a heavy smoker for years and he quit cold turkey with hypnosis. Sounds to me like it works well.

My doctor suggest being hypnotised but we do not know of a good one around this area. I wish I know of one anywhere that was good. I'm scared to go to just anyone.

If you have the money, I believe that you should be able to find a trusted hypnotherapist, My mum is learning hypnotherapy, and has a few clients. One thing that I have learnt is that self hypnosis is good - but nothing is better than having someone else do a full assessment on you and it is limitless. But I obviously understand your fear of not trusting someone else to do it. There are good hypnotists out there, normally you can check the background and if they have certificates for it! Plus, I know you won't believe me right now - but you cannot make someone do what they want you to do by hypnosis, you have complete control. The people you see on tv on these tv programs are the kind of people who would do crazy stuff to start with - they only pick that type of person out of the audience!

I've been considering self-hypnosis also, tho I haven't dedicated much time to studying it yet. If I do find any good resources I will definitely share.

I've been considering getting deeper into self hypnosis lately, because I don't trust someone else to do it to me. Anyone have any luck with self hypnosis? So far I have had very moderated success with it. Tips? Suggestions?

well, i have given it an attempt but i have to say i did not give it a fair chance due to my parentsi only went twice but when i went in i was feeling so nervious i might throw up and i was shaking and i left all nice and relaxed - i was having problems eating because my anxiety was so bad - and after the session i ate a boston cream donught in 1 bite it was very short lasting for me but as i said i dident get a chance to give it a full try so i cant tell you if it will cure anything but .. for me it did give me a few hours of nice releif i think you should give it a shot and tell me how it goes ;) ill be interestd in hearing what happens if you have AIM you can reach me at th3newsunrising Take Care Mike-

Has anybody used hypnotherapy as an aid for anxiety ? I know its supposed to be a growing discipline and much more widely respected, but would be intersted to hear from anyone who has used this.
