Hi Doodles, I'm not that far yet.. did have a few "craves" on Saturday. I was with my husband though.... he joked.. and reminded me ...we have another mouth to feed....lol Just keep saying No.. I hate these unexpected ones... I am still trying to keep a water bottle with me, and mints in my pockets or handy. Glad you said NO .. and it went away... hang in there you are doing great My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/10/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 64 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,088 Amount Saved: $217.60 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 3 Mins: 39 Seconds: 20

Hi Doodles! Looks like you've experienced this before, at almost 6 months, and now at almost 8 months. I'd say it's a combination of hanging out with smokers triggering the receptors in the brain and a last gasp effort of the addiction to say Hey, here I am, you can have me as a reward, you've done so well, what could one hurt? Yeah, right, I've done so well because I haven't had one, now go away and don't come back you evil smelling rotten no good...well, you get the picture. The other thing is have you done any rewards lately? What a darling, Sparky! Great reward. Well, Ex Roller..you made it through one more time. Congratulations. The craves are so mental now, instead of mental and physical, like in the beginning. I think that the faster we can distract ourselves with something, the quicker that crave will go away. I do my best to push those smoking thoughts out of my mind by getting engrossed in a tv program, a good book, or by calling someone on the phone and chatting. Before I realize it, that big mental desire to smoke has lightened up. I chew alot of peppermint sugarless gum too! Well, one more crave stronger. You have an awesome quit going. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 224 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,376 Amount Saved: $1,120.00 Life Gained: Days: 31 Hrs: 5 Mins: 17 Seconds: 4

I don't know why that happens, but boy oh boy they are horrible and you made it though. I am going to show you what I got for my six months reward. Now I pick Mr. Kitty up and it so worth the quit. I remember getting some strong craves last summer, out of nowhere. Just remember that you are stronger after each crave that you don't give in to. That goes along with "what doesn't kill you will make you stronger" too! Congrats on 6 months by the way! Congratulations on 6 months!!! WooHoo.....How cool is that! I had one of those monster craves on Christmas Day....thought I was going to die...lasted for the next day too. As much as it hurt, it didn't hurt as much as the first 3 weeks, where I constantly thought of smoking. That I remember all too clearly and don't want to have to head back to the beginning...ever...cause I don't know if I could...you know? Really proud of you Ex Roller, now....give yourself a big reward! Thanks both of you for responding so quickly! Thankfully it seems to have passed as quickly as it came, but I wasn't expecting that one - and not prepared for how strong it was! Anyhow, no harm done - no cig smoked - another milestone crossed!!
