I noticed that when starting Lexapro. The anxiety was actually worse the first week. After that it tapered off and then was non existant. i hear that is a pretty common reaction with many of these things.
I can say I give XANAX a big thumbs up. It works fast, it nips that panic attack right in the bud and works everytime.

I had to recently take ativan I took half of .5 and about 30 minutes to 45 minutes later I had a full blown panic attack. It was so weird. After that 4 minutes of the thought that I was going to die I quickly became very relaxed. I'm not sure why that happened and I'm not sure if I will take it again.

I was prescribed ativan 1mg pills about a year ago for panic attacks/GAD. Right now I am in a constant state of anxiety that rarely lets up. I am not on other meds b/c I wanted to beat this alone. I rarely used the ativan until recently. I take 1/2 pills so .5mg total. Did anyone ever notice that as soon as they take it for the first hour--they are actually more anxious? Yday I took it & for 45 mins was in panic attack mode. Then I felt great. Just took one 30 mins ago & sure enough...feel ****py still. I Cant wait to feek better. Am in the only one who has noticed this? Pls reply...
