Everybody Loves Thier Quit

Great thread, BC! Excellent post, martha! I also feel that I am a more authientic version of myself. That's why I often call this quit the journey to myself. I LOVE MY QUIT. Lots of things keep me quit, but one big one is all of you. When I start thinking I can have just one, I imagine having to come here & tell all of you, or I think aloha will phone & know I'm smoking. I don't want to smoke, but even if I did, I couldn't. I'm unhooked! Hello Blue Cloud, great thread!! On one level, I couldn't be that person anymore; not knowing what I know now. I recognize what's tempting me to do it and addiction has no relevant place in my life. To give up my quit I would have to give in to it and by doing so give up control. I'm not saying there's no way I could slip, I'm no fool. Sure I could slip but it would be just that. Anything beyond that would be falling back into the mindless addict. I just don't see that happenning. I'm a mindful addict which, to me, means I will spend the balance of my days refining my abilities and skills to remain smoke free as effortlessly as possible. NOPE plays into this goal beautifully. Great thread, BC! What helps me stay quit? The appreciation I have for actually having smoke-free days behind me and the knowledge that it could be lost in an instant and never gotten back. I am so grateful to know that I can go through today w/o a cigarette. It wasn't that long ago that I didn't believe I could. Quitting smoking was and is a gift and I'm not giving it back. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 113 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,390 Amount Saved: $661.05 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 2 Mins: 55 Seconds: 20

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my quit! I love it most because I have hit that place where I don't even think of myself as a "former" smoker - I truly feel like a non-smoker! I especially agree with GRIN - I now have total control over my life, not just most of it! Great thread - as usual! Thanks BC - I love these types of posts. I never realized how fearful I was as a smoker. I had a fear for every occasion and I didn't face them or even acknowledge them - I smoked. I am a much more authentic version of myself now without the smokey camoflauge. That's not to say I have no fears now  I'm still plenty skeered of plenty of things but I feel everything more deeply now. And that is something I am so grateful for - that I FEEL! All the best quitters! Yes indeed I do love my quit. I never thought I would get this far, but I followed some wonderful advice and never gave up. I don't know what tomorrow will bring, but I do know I will remain smoke free today. I love working out, I love to take deep breaths without coughing, I love to smell good, I love everything about not smoking!!!! Yes, it is all good. And I love rewards. Control! I have taken back control over my life. As a smoker, my mind was always on how I was going to get in my next "fix". I love the freedom! What I love most about quitting, is the fact that on some level, I never thought it possible at all...Now when I look back I know with certainty that that was just another addiction lie...Quitting rewards you not only with a revitalized body, but also with a quickening of the spirit that only comes from doing what was once thought to be impossible...It begins to make one wonder what other seeming impossiblilities can made into prone goliaths... Stay well and quit nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 355 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,650 Amount Saved: $3,727.50 Life Gained: Days: 64 Hrs: 18 Mins: 51 Seconds: 32
