Hi Rocket! It sounds like you are very well prepared for your quit! While you are cutting back smoking daily, may I suggest that you cut out your "favorite" smoking times too. That way when you quit, you will know that you can handle not having one after a meal, driving, etc. Best wishes and have a wonderful trip! Thanks for all of the great support guys! Well with only 4 days til our quit date I have cut my daily limit from 15 to 10 as of today. For the previous 3 days it was 15 and i went 13,11,11...not bad! But the better part is my wife whom i felt was going to have a difficult time with this only smoked 8. Next stop quitting land!! I plan on taking my diary with me on the trip it will help, but I'm sure I will be able to occupy my time. As an incentive I get to go periodical shopping and buy all the reading materials I need for the trip. I will also bring my sketch book and pencils which will help alot. Once I reach my destination I am sure I will be able to handle any cravings that might arise and if times get real hard I'll just lean on my Lifesavers candy!! (works for me)

Rocket Think of it this way...There are very few things in life that come with a 100% no regret guarantee. Beating this addiction happens to be one of those. No regrets, alot of hard work and in the end an amazing feeling of accomplishment...Now how bad can that be...Good luck... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 315 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,450 Amount Saved: $3,307.50 Life Gained: Days: 57 Hrs: 13 Mins: 52 Seconds: 26

Rocket Great decision! I highly recommend the quit tools here, like the glove compartment and workbook. Also in preparation for your vacation, it might be good to take the workbook with you, or at least a printed out list of reasons you are quitting. If you have time this week, read as much as you can here, and print out some of the meaningful to you posts. I recommend "Junkie Thinking" and "A Little Help For My Friends" You can get to the original post on any thread by hitting Message Date on any thread. I wish you and your wife the best in beating this addiction. Let us know if we can help in any way. Great idea Rocket!! I smoked for 35 years, the last five were 2 packs a day. With the help of some great people here, and a lot of posting, I went cold turkey 8 days ago. Now is your, and your wife's time to shine. It definitely is not easy to stop, but it's worth it. The morning hack has disappeared, and it's gotten easier to give up the habit. I stopped by thinking of 1 hour at a time. That turned into 24, 48, etc. Good luck, and post often.
