Great advise Eddie, thanks! Still smoke-free over here and feeling better every day. And yes, Jodi, you are half-right. One dog is a Golden Retriever (the one in front, she's mine :) ) The other dog is a yellow Lab and she is a friend. Have a great day everyone. Stay strong. Just sending a warm hello from an October Quitter. Today is week 2 of my quit and I feel GREAT!!!!! It's been a rough ride for some days, but I am starting to believe that it will get easier. I don't recall wanting a cig the whole weekend. Please remember to remind yourself every morning that you will not smoke today and just as important, congratulate yourself before going to bed for not smoking today. Congrats to all the October Quitters and wish you all the best. Isn't it great to be able to leave the house without having to make sure you have your smokes and lighter with you?! loolie - At least you and your husband will get through it at about the same time. You will not feel resentful, as I sometimes do, when he goes and smokes while you may be struggling not to. Congrats on one week OMT!!! Your dogs are cute. Are they Golden Retrievers? Hi cat - I'm going to try to catch up on cleaning and bills and things today too. It seems I have been putting things off for too long. Way to go on 3 smoke free days Stan!!! For me, days 1 and 3 were the hardest, then it got way easier! sprquits, marie, goofy, rnd34 - I hope you all are having a good smoke-free weekend! Keep your eye on the prize! I really responded to your message. My husband is a smoker too. The problem in my mind is that he decided to quit 3 days ago. I'm on day 10. I think we may kill each other! I told him not to quit at the same time as me, any opinions out there? loolie

Hey, I'm still here. We survived the hurricane and it didn't even knock out our power! :) Unfortunately, 100,000 people weren't so fortunate. We got lucky this time. I am so excited that tomorrow will be a full week without smokes! I am starting to feel more energy and it's getting easier to breathe. Yesterday I went for a run and I ran further than my normal routine! That felt so great! I look forward to seeing just how far I can go! Hi! Getting through the day with A LOT of tea! The great thing about weekends is that I can then run to the toilet as often as I want to without my coleagues staring... Going to clean the appartment to keep busy, too. Take care! P.S. Finding a name will be kind of diffcult with "october". I checked n a crossword dictionary: all other words with "oct" are bizarre- except octet- but we are more than 8!!!! I'd just stick to the plain "The octobers".... But then, I'm not a poet :-) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 18 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 306 Amount Saved: 70.38 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 9 Mins: 31 Seconds: 30

Hey there October Quitters! I hope everyone is hanging tough! This weekend is not as busy as usual for me, so I am having to take a lot of deep breaths. OMT - Great Job on 5 days! Do you have a reward planned for one week? Hopefully Noel will go easy on you guys. A clever name for Oct. quitters is a great idea, but as you can see from my screen name I'm not very creative with names. Thanks for starting this thread Martha, and for all of the suggestions for dealing with anger, stress and tension. Have a nice smoke-free weekend everyone - oh, and enjoy that extra hour of sleep when we turn our clocks back! How are all the October quitters doing? I'm doing alright. Still holding strong and still easily irritated with my husband. (He is learning to deal with it and I am still hoping he'll quit soon) We live in Nova Scotia and tonight hurricane Noel is supposed to hit. I am hoping we don't lose power. So, how is everyone else? Should we start a small group for October quitters? Maybe we could come up with a clever name. Any suggestions?
